Started playing and not satisfied with what you got in your first wishes? So, find out how, and if you should, reroll Genshin Impact
There were many posts about it when the game was released in September 2020 and until a few months later, the theme was still strong from the game's Facebook or Discord groups. But today, with the game already in version 1.6 and with several events that have happened and are happening, it is rarer to see posts and talks about doing a "reroll in Genshin Impact". Players who have been in the game for the longest time simply accepted their luck or already rerolled back there and started the game with the team they wanted (or at least part of it).
Now, if you started the game a short time ago and didn't like the characters you got in gacha and want to know how to replay wishes in Genshin Impact before investing too much in your adventures for Teyvat, here's a way to try to start them with your favorite list of characters. It will take time and a lot of luck, but here is a Genshin Impact reroll guide to show you how to do it and what 'reroll' means. If in the end you will find it worth it? That's up to you.
What is reroll in Genshin Impact?
Reroll is a common concept in gacha games like Genshin Impact. It means creating a new account and trying your luck with the first generous freebies that every game gives you at the beginning to acquire the characters you want to play with, without having to shell out real-world money.
Although it's cheaper than the monetary alternative, it takes dedication and patience, because rerolling in Genshin Impact means repeating the first hour of the game once or several times until you get the character you want. The reroll only works on the PC and mobile versions of the game, as to do this on the PlayStation you would basically need a new console.
Does doing this guarantee you'll get the characters you want? No, anyway. The gacha is, at first, a game of chance and, as in all games of this type, the idea is that the player spends money and invests in the game, so with each update they bring new and charismatic characters (and you can meet all they here), but getting them depends on luck, time, and sometimes money. The reroll in Genshin Impact can help you get what you want, but if you want the perfect account, it's good that your chair is very comfortable.
How to reroll in Genshin Impact
To reroll Genshin Impact, go to the miHoYo website and create a new account with a new email. On the mobile, exit the app and create a new account with a new email.
Starting from scratch, it will take a while for you to reach the screen where you can make wishes, as it is only unlocked at Adventure Rank 5. Each new account will provide at least ten free wishes at Adventure Rank 5 and Adventure Rank 10, which means you have two chances with the highest chances of getting one of the four and five star characters and weapons on the banner of your choice.
You can also use Unowned Stardust and Unowned Starshine – an in-game coin gained by getting 3 or 4 star items in the gacha – in the Paimon Menu shop for more wishes or various ascension items, which are used at the beginning about the game. Under each banner, check the “details” button to see a complete summary of odds for each character and weapon you can get.
How long does it take to reroll?
With all the tutorials, cutscenes and quests, it takes about 20-40 minutes just to get to Adventure Rank 5. Getting to Rank 7, which will bring you more rewards, will take more time as there are quests and fights that can vary accordingly with your skill and characters you have at hand. If you want to know which characters you can win for free, just read here.
Some, like Stormterror, can take you some time to beat it, so if you want to know how to defeat the dragon more easily, get to know it and see the strategies in this post. See some tips below for rerolling.
Your favorite characters close to you

I have my new account, now what?
At the start of the game, you will be able to access a series of gacha banners on the wish screen. In addition to the conventional banner and the current gun and promotional banners, you will have access to a banner called Beginner's Wishes. This limited banner allows you to make wishes with 20% discounts for 10 consecutive wishes. However, after making 20 wishes on it, it will disappear from the screen.
We recommend choosing Beginner's Wish as it has the highest rates of earning 5 star characters and you are guaranteed to get the character Noelle, (in my opinion) one of the best 4 star characters guaranteed when you want 10 consecutive times. However, there is no chance of getting the promotional five-star character.

run and climb
The race will make you get to places faster. Once you reach Mondstadt, climbing can open up shortcuts that make navigation faster. Be careful not to run out of energy. You will fall from wherever you are climbing or drown in water if you run out of water in certain situations if you run out of stamina.
In this case of running and climbing, some characters have run or ladder bonuses, such as Rosaria, who can run faster at night, Beidou who uses less stamina when swimming or Amber who uses less stamina when gliding. If you get one of these characters you can use them to make the reroll faster.
do the essentials
On your way to Mondstandt you will need to defeat two groups of enemies, some hillichurls and some slimes, but not all enemies on the way need to be fought. This is a tutorial, so just do what you have to. For example, Lynn's cooking mission can be skipped after doing as little as she asks. Make a dish and continue to town.
When you start fighting Stormterror, you need to stay in line with the crosshairs and hold down the attack button to defeat it. Don't get distracted and keep attacking. The faster you defeat him, the faster you will gain his wishes. Once you gain access to the wish screen, you will finally receive an email from Paimon with 1600 Firsts and 10 Family Destinations. Hopefully, you'll also get some Unowned Stardust and Unowned Starshine to buy more wishes from the Paimon store.
Should I reroll?
The advantage of rerolling Genshin Impact and starting the game again is obvious: you can try as many times as you like to get the characters you want right at the start of the game, without having to pay for it, before continuing your adventure in Teyvat.
On the other hand, this method is time-consuming and depends on luck for you to get everything you want. The chances of getting one of the five-star characters are very low (less than one percent). Besides, who the hell wants to have 100 different email addresses? I understand the dedication, but it's exaggerated even by my standards.
Also, even with the reroll, some characters you won't get anyway, as they were released in limited banners because of events or with game updates. Zhongli, the geo bow, just got out of the banners and, shortly after, we had the Eula banner, already finished, and currently, in update 1.6, we have a banner dedicated to Klee. Rerolling Genshin Impact will not bring the Eula, Zhongli or Ganyu banners or any of those characters back.
You'll have the chance to get the traditional five-star characters like Jean, Mona, Qiqi, Diluc and Keqing on the reroll, but these characters are available all the time in the game, so you don't have to start over to have these characters in your team.
Frankly, you have a better chance of getting a five-star character by continuing to play. Every 90 wishes (so every nine packs of ten wishes) you are guaranteed at least one five- or four-star character in that wish, a developer consolation prize. Because of that, rerolling is only worthwhile if you want specific characters from the beginning of the game. Otherwise, continue and enjoy the game.
Knowing that there are great characters out there for you to potentially desire makes the process appealing, but remember that you may be wasting a lot of time to end up empty handed. Please take this into consideration before starting the process, and if it's worth it to you then we wish you the best of luck!
