If you're hoping to revisit Hu Tao and Childe on Genshin Impact, then good news. Two of Genshin Impact's most beloved characters may be returning to miHoYo's Genshin Impact game banners. Hu Tao, the director of the Wangsheng funeral home, and Tartaglia, the Fatui's 11th Harbinger, are two of the possible reruns that will come with version 2.2, scheduled to take place on October 13th, according to leaks posted on Twitter and Reddit by the TZ leaker.
Hu Tao is one of the most (if not the most) powerful Pyro DPS in the game to date and Childe is the first character who can switch weapons, switching between his hydro daggers and a bow. Both characters are stamped on all sorts of events taking place in the nation of Liyue, one of the seven nations of Teyvat's world and the second to appear in play, and the company is likely to take advantage of their fame and include them in the event that is currently happening in the game, called “Gently Caress the Moon” and put them on the banners.
Although they were not the company's most profitable banners (currently, the record is for the Raiden Shogun banner, with around five million dollars in sales), but they certainly did well in results, with Tartaglia doing well in her two banner appearances and Hu Tao being one of the highest earners in her sales period, she also boosted gun banner sales for her recommended weapon, the Staff of Homa.
Since they are good characters that can be aligned with the current event, it is quite possible that miHoYo will try to increase its banner sales with the return of two characters that have been out of reach of players for some time. Other leakers report that the Pyro spear user, Thoma, a 4-star character, may come along with Hu Tao in the banner.
In addition to this return, miHoYo will present to PC and mobile gamers the character Aloy, from Horizon Zero Down. The character that was exclusive to Genshin players on Sony consoles will now reach everyone, as released by the company in month of July.
Can Hu Tao and Childe on Genshin Impact be a salvation for miHoYo?
Despite the festive year-long release date for Genshin Impact, miHoYo has little reason to celebrate. Initially, she is facing a flood of reviews negative by players because of gifts given to players. Players expected some treats, like a free 5-star character, but received some gems, just over 10 wishes and some evolution items, as well as deleting negative comments and censoring users on their social networks.
Another detail was its last 3 banners, the archer Pyro – Yoimyia, the spear Electro – Raiden Shogun and the catalyst user Hydro – Kokomi, only Raiden was good in sales. Yoimyia, though strong, was cast before Raiden and most players preferred to save their gems for the Archon. Kokomi, an excellent healer, has a passive ability that gives her a -100% reduction in her critical rate, which made many players move away from the character, leaving her currently in the last selling position in the banners.
So, bringing back two characters dear to the community could be the company's attempt to overcome this current negativity with players. So far, the company has not commented on which banners will come in the next update and leakers information may not be confirmed. A live that will detail what will come in the Genshin Impact 2.2 update is scheduled for 03/10.
