The Comet Lake-S line will take processors from the Pentium Gold to the top of the line, the Core i9. Some important changes about the generation:

  • Core i3 processors rise to 4 cores and 8 threads.
  • Core i5 processors now have Hyperthreading and together 6 cores and 12 threads.
  • Core i7 processors now have 9 cores and 16 threads.
  • And Core i9 processors now have 10 cores and 20 threads, and Hyperthreading.

Regarding RAM memory, support was expanded to 2933MHz on Core i7 and i9. Anyway, the frequencies of the processor itself were also increased, with models passing the 5.0GHz boost and the top of the Comet Lake-S line, the Core i9-10900K, reaches 5.3GHz in one core, keeping the rest at 4.9GHz .

As for the prices of the new line from Intel

Prices outside Brazil were kept the same as in the previous generation, without much change; Then, the Core i9-10900K being announced for $ 488,00. This is good for Intel, as its competitor AMD had a perfect cost-benefit with the Ryzen line.

Finally, along with the line, Intel also launched an update for the Extreme Tuning Utility, a tool that allows overclocking on Intel processors. Now, adjustments will be easier and more accurate, even being able to turn Hyperthreading off in some situations. It is always important to note that problems arising from overclocking are not covered by the warranty.
