About the LPL format

At first LPL currently has 17 teams that will face each other in MD3 series only once. In addition, the competition will have ten weeks, the first eight teams move to the elimination phase, which will play in the round of XNUMX, quarterfinals, semifinals and final.

Thus, all the elimination round matches are in MD5 format. So the two best teams guarantee a place directly in the semifinal. The 3rd and 4th° place guarantee a place in the quarterfinals, so the teams left over will go to the round of 5, as well as the teams from the XNUMX° and 6° start the octaves with a victory.

The tiebreaker criterion if two teams are tied on the leaderboard, is the number of games won, that is, if a team wins more by 2 to 0 than by 2 to 1, it will take advantage. If they are still tied, then it will be defined in a direct confrontation.

In the meantime, LPL makes use of Championship Points to secure a place in the World Cup. Even the 7th place gives points to the teams, which are used in the second split to guarantee a second slot for their in the world, so it encourages and ensures that the teams strive to do well in the 1st split as well.
