We just entered the month of April and we already have news of the new Call of Duty which will arrive at the end of this year 2021. We don't even have 5 months of the launch of the Black Ops Cold War title, from the franchise CoD, however rumors and leaks indicate that the new game already has a name and hot information regarding its theme and graphics engine.
According to the leaker ModernWarzone, through his blog, he informed that the new Call of Duty it would have “Vanguard” as its code name, and would go back to the past to the theme of ancient war, in this case, of World War II, but in an alternative reality, as if the war had not ended in 2.
The information published by the blog gained strength and credibility when the Eurogamer website, a reference when it comes to exclusive information, disclosed that there are great chances that “Vanguard” is the final name and that the game would really have this theme, however, it does not reinforce the idea of a reality different from what actually happened in the periods from 1939 to 1945.
The game is said to be being developed by Sledgehammer Games, the same company responsible for the last game in the franchise with an ancient war theme, Call of Duty World at War II. The developer also worked on Call of Duty: Advance Warfare.
Another website with a lot of involvement in relation to CoD leaks, VGC also stirred the community with, in addition to also reinforcing about the name and theme of the game, the information that the new Call of Duty: Vanguard will have the same graphics engine used in Modern Warfare (2019) with some improvements to meet the expectations of fans, now with the arrival of a new generation of video games.
The graphics engine used in the MW19 was a major technological breakthrough with IW8 and took about five years to finally be ready and used by Infinity Ward. The engine, in fact, is the same engine used in the Warzone battle royale. In Black Ops Cold War, Treyarch decided not to use the engine in its title, which generated a series of criticisms for using an engineering inferior to that used in the previous CoD. Much to tell of the difference in multiplayer graphics with Warzone itself. The use of IW8 technology may facilitate integration with the battle royale.
The Call of Duty franchise has a very complex timeline. The latest releases show that flexibility with Modern Warfare released in 2019 with the theme of modern warfare and Black Ops Cold War, the latest game released addressing the tense climate between the U.S. and the Soviet Union in the Cold War. The addition of yet another game with an older timeline will open many doubts for fans of the franchise, since Activision decided to link all the universes of all developers on Warzone.
