Nintendo and Game Freak are launching two major Pokemon Sword and Shield DLCs this year: The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra. The first will be released next week, on June 17, while the last is scheduled for release later this year, and each will feature a variety of additional content to the titles, including new gameplay features, locations, characters, stories and even Pokemon.
Sword and Shield's Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra DLCs will add many new Pokémon, including the Galactic forms of Slowbro, the legendary Gen 1 birds and more.
The Pokemon Company shared a ton of new details about future expansions for Pokemon Sword & Shield, The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra. Along with the new mechanics and gameplay environments, each expansion will introduce a variety of additional Pokémon into the games, including some brand new Legendary and alternate shapes.
On Armor Island, Galarian Slowpoke can evolve into Galarian Slowbro. Unlike a standard Slowbro, this exclusive variant of Galar is of the Poison / Psychic type that can learn a special movement called Shell Side Arm, which fires poisonous liquid from the Shellder that is trapped in his arm. Galarian Slowbro also has a new skill called Quick Draw, although no details have been shared about it yet.
Blastoise and Venosaur
Beginners to Kanto Venusaur and Blastoise will gain Gigantamax forms on Armor Island. Like other Gigantamax Pokémon, each will have its own unique G-Max movement. Gigantamax Venusaur's attack, G-Max Vine Lash, damages non-Grass enemies for four turns. Gigantamax Blastoise, meanwhile, can use the G-Max Cannonade, which also damages non-Water opponents for four turns.
Galuno Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres
The Tundra Crown will also feature Galarian forms of the three classic legendary birds, Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres. Each of them has a new type and skill. Galarian Articuno is a Psychic / Flying type that can freeze enemies with an attack called Freeze Glow. Galarian Zapdos is a Fighting / Flying type who can learn the Thunderous Kick movement. As well as Galarian Moltres who is Dark / Flying capable of using a new attack called Fiery Wrath.
Regieleki and Regidrago
So also Sword and Shield's second expansion, The Crown Tundra, will introduce a handful of new Legendary Pokémon to the games, including two new Regis. First, Regieleki, is an electric type capable of learning an exclusive attack called Thunder Cage. This move holds opponents, preventing them from leaving and dealing damage each turn.
