About Overwatch 2
The game will contain PvE and PvP modes, maintaining the shooter style of its predecessor, it was also announced a new PvP mode called Push, where players, divided into two teams, must compete for control over a load to push it. The team that pushes the load for the longest distance within the opponent's territory wins.
Player vs Player
PvP will be shared with its predecessor, meaning Overwatch 2 players will be able to play with Overwatch players, as all characters and maps from the first game will be in the second and the PvP game modes already available in the predecessor will be shared. This way, Push mode will be exclusive to Overwatch 2. “It will be a shared multiplayer environment in which no one will be left behind. ”According to game director Jeff Kaplan.
What's more, Overwatch players will be able to use Overwatch 2 characters and maps. The cosmetics and achievements acquired by predecessor players will be transferred to the new game.
Player vs Environment
The PvE mode will have several story missions and campaigns for the characters, further expanding the lore that the game has. PvE mode will also contain a progression system with a skill tree to evolve heroes during the campaign.
All the characters in the game will receive a visual improvement and the game will also bring new characters like Soujourn and Echo that was introduced in Ashe's presentation trailer.
