Sony has officially revealed what the PS5 game boxes will look like. They're not that different from the PS4 box art, but they have a white stripe across the top that should make it easy to find on the shelves if the two are mixed.
The revelation was made using the official art of the Spider-Man: Miles Morales box. The standalone game includes the new logo of PlayStation Studios. Where the top banner on PS4 games was blue with white letters, white with black letters on PS5 boxes. White is also present in the column, which shows the game title as it would in a PS4 box.
Sony clearly didn't have much work to do when making the transition to the new generation this time around. His first designs for the PS3, including the lyrics on the system itself and on the game boxes, were very different from later designs, the revisions were what Sony kept in the future, both on PS4 and PS5. Ironically, these first letters were very similar to the logos of Sam Raimi Spider-Man's films.
The PS5 has no release date or price yet. It is scheduled to launch towards the end of 2020 with Spider-Man: Miles Morales also being launched during the same period.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales
At first Spider-Man: Miles Morales takes place a year after the events of Marvel's Spider-Man, with Harlem now covered by winter snows. This changes familiar streets as you cross them, but it also allows Insomniac to introduce new visual updates thanks to the PS5. Features such as lightning tracking, enhanced asset models and even a redesign of the game's capillary animation will appear in the independent title. see more here.
Miles will also be slightly different from Peter Parker, ranging from your movements in the air as you swing to your skills in a fight. Miles is still learning from Peter Parker, but differs with some unique skills. As well as includes electrified punches and the ability to remain invisible for stealthy encounters.
