After several criticisms about the hero's look, Jeffrey Fowler, an American filmmaker, visual effects artist and director of the film, decided to postpone the release of the hero to restructure the character in a way that best represented him, and apparently that was a great choice , fans loved Sonic's new look in the movie.

About Sonic The Hedgehog

Sonic The Hedgehog is an action and comedy film distributed by Paramount Pictures based on Sega's games about the character. The film is directed by Jeff Fowler and stars Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic and Jim Carrey as the villain in the film Dr. Robotnik, along with James Marsden, Adam Pally, Neal McDonough and Tika Sumpter. The story of the film, observed by the trailer, is that a city sheriff helps Sonic to escape from Dr. Robotnik who has the help of the government.

Sonic gets a new look

First in 2013 Sony Pictures got the film rights to Sega's Sonic and started developing an adaptation. In 2016 they hired Jeff Fowler to direct the film, however in 2017 Paramount acquired the rights to the film after Sony put the project on turnaround. Filming took place from July to October 2018 in Vancouver.

Anyway, the film initially had a release date for November 8, 2019, but due to complaints and the director's decision to change the look of the hero, the film was postponed to February 14, 2020.
