According to rumors, temporary messages on the WhatsApp may be deleted in 24 hours. The information, which arrived on April 12th, is according to the blog BetaInfo, known for specializing in WhatsApp for all smartphone operating systems and says that this feature may come in future updates from Mark Zuckerberg's messenger.
The rumor is recent and the specialized blog had already commented on his Twitter account that this feature was going out of the paper and was finally being tested to reach the application.
Temporary messages on WhatsApp for 7 days
In November 2020, a very similar feature arrived on WhatsApp, but “destructive messages”, as it is known in messengers, had a period of one week to be deleted permanently and could be applied in private conversations and also in groups, if you were an administrator. It is not yet known whether the feature indicated by WABetaInfo will come to replace the old feature or become another option for users.
In the current version, destructive group messages can only be allowed to those who are administrators, so it will define whether only admins can perform exclusive actions or if any member can do them in the group, such as cover photo, description, in addition to the destructive messages themselves, through an option in the group settings and later on “edit group data”.
In this case, if the automatic destruction function is activated, all messages from that moment on will be deleted in one week. However, messages prior to the moment of activation will be kept normally and can be deleted manually. In the case of new messages, they may still be saved in other locations, such as the cloud, for example.
In his blog, WABetaInfo also reported that in the Android Beta update 126.96.36.199, WhatsApp would also be working on the possibility of downloading all payment information. Read the full article.
