Although the official release of RX 6600 XT AMD hasn't happened yet, that hasn't stopped the retailer AIO from listing an AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT Gaming X graphics card for $1.199 at Newegg on the weekend and most of the Monday before the page be taken down.

Considering that the performance of the RX 6600 XT should average specs between the RTX 3060 ($329) and the RTX 3060 Ti ($399), AMD has already confirmed that the RX 6600 XT, aka “the beast 1080p” will sell for about $379.

The board is a mid-range model. According to the brand, this GPU is focused on 1080p games and according to tests carried out, in 9 of the 10 games tested the graphics proved to be more powerful than the GeForce RTX 3060 from rival Nvidia. Following the manufacturer indicates on its website, its new graphics card can be 15% faster with the RESizable BAR / Smart Access Memory technology, present in both models.

If the comparison is made with its predecessor Radeon RX 5600 XT, then the new product from AMD presents an improvement in performance in the order of 40% to 70%. As far as the remaining technical specifications are concerned, the RX 6600 XT brings a Navi 23 XT graphics chip with 2.048 stream processors and a clock of 2.359 MHz and a Turbo of 2.589 MHz.

It has 8 GB of 6 GHz GDDR16 memory and a 128-bit interface, achieving a bandwidth of 256 GB/s. The graphics card also offers 32 MG of Infinity Cache and a power consumption of 160 W, thus requiring an 8-pin PCI-Express connector. AMD revealed that this new graphics card will arrive on August 11th (which makes the story much stranger) with the recommended price of 379 dollars, which is about R$1.986,62 (in direct conversion). But we will have to wait for the graphics card to hit the shelves to know the real value that stores will sell.

AMD Graphics Card Hit Store Before Launch?

Which begs the question: With this information from AMD in mind, a card of this line that will cost an average of US$300 and sell for US$1.200 seems a little expensive. The most logical explanation is the difficult time to buy a graphics card these days, you can imagine that someone might be tempted to rush in and pay a higher price for any piece of hardware they can get (or perhaps enjoy the “hunger ” from Bitcoin miners and sell the board at an overpriced price).

That said, when the GPUs are shipped from China to the rest of the world (which should happen around the 11th if everything goes according to company forecast), the AMD RX 6600 XT will certainly be available worldwide. It also raises the question of how a third-party vendor can make, sell, and perhaps ship a product that has not yet been officially released.

The store didn't comment on the subject and neither did AMD, but can you do that in the comments and say how you think the cards ended up in the store? Would you buy the card for that amount? Are you interested in the plaque for the value it will come? Enjoy and read more News on our website.
