Warzone will evolve as new Call of Duty games are released, becoming a direct link between them. Activision hasn't revealed how it will happen, but it did show that each new game in the franchise will leave its mark on Warzone; thus keeping the game always competitive and updated.
“We are in unfamiliar territories here. Call of Duty has had a very regular cadence for many years, and Warzone made us rethink exactly how best to launch new content and how to integrate it. Call of Duty is a genre in itself, there are different branches in the Call of Duty Tree; but they are all connected in some way. Warzone will be the direct line that connects all the different CoD sub-franchises. It will be really cool to see how the different sub-franchises kind of go in and out of focus, but the War Zone will be the only constant. ”Said Infinity Ward narrative director Taylor Kurosaki.
We will only be able to get an idea of how Warzone will adapt when Activision reveals the next game in the franchise.
But it is a fact that the game will have to evolve to survive; we see this happening with other Battle Royale games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, PUBG and others. These games have a player base since launch, to keep these players the games must have new content; events and gameplay added and updated frequently.
Warzone is currently a spin-off of Modern Warfare, being a free-to-play battle royale game, developed by Infinity Ward and Raven Software; published by Activision.
