Genshin Impact trailer

We started this Genshin Impact guide with the game's history. The game takes place in the fictional world of Teyvat, when two foreign traveling brothers are faced with a goddess who separates them. The player can choose between the female and male genders with which character (between the two brothers) he wants to start his battle. This character, called the Traveler, will go on a search for the seven nations, to find his lost companion.

Each of the seven nations of Teyvat is represented by an element, namely: Anemo (wind), Electro (electricity), Hydro (water), Pyro (fire), Cryo (ice), Dendro (nature) and Geo (stone) , and ruled by a god. The nations are called Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru, Fontaine, Natlan and Snezhnaya, which can be accessed in the game with time, as the story progresses.

Although there are several playable characters in the game, the story will always be about the Traveler, but that does not mean that you will have to keep him on your team, only that the main story revolves around that character.

Also noteworthy is the presence of Paimon, the “travel guide”, who accompanies the Traveler throughout his adventure and helps him. There are still many mysteries regarding Paimon’s origin and identity, which will be revealed as the game updates.

Elemental reactions

Continuing the Genshin Impact guide, we will talk about elemental reactions. The main feature of Genshin Impact is the attention to the elements.

Each character or enemy will dominate one of these elements, and the objective is the interaction of these elements to cause elemental reactions. For example, the interaction of Hydro with Pyro causes "vaporization", that of Electro with Pyro causes "overload", Cryo with Electro causes "superconductor", Hydro and Cryo causes "freeze", among others. The main idea is to test all the elements and observe what each interaction causes.

In addition, there are fields of elements that cause specific debuffs. For example, the fire field, from the Pyro element, causes DoT (damage over time), the water field, from the Hydro element, causes an increase in the cooldown (cooldown) of the abilities, the ice field, from the Cryo element. , causes an increase in the consumption of stamina and the storm field, of the Electro element, causes a constant drain in the energy recharge.

Another important information about the elements is Resonance. These are buffs received for placing two characters of the same element on your main team.

Some resonances are: 2 Hydro - reduces the effects of Pyro by 40% and increases the healing received by 30%, 2 Anemo - reduces the consumption of stamina by 15%, increases the movement speed by 10%, and decreases the cooldown of skills by 5%, 2 Pyro - reduces the effects of Cryo by 40% and increases the attack by 25%. There is also Resonance for those who have 4 different elements in their team, in this case the increase in elemental and physical resistance by 15%.

It is also important to emphasize that the best character to face each enemy depends on the element to which he belongs. For example, the best strategy for facing a Pyro enemy would be to use a Hydro character. A Pyro character would have less effectiveness in battle, since both would have the same element. For Hydro, it would be best to use Electro, and so on.

How do I start playing?

The next part of this Genshin Impact guide is how to get your hands dirty.

To control your character, use the W, A, S and D keys, and the camera is controlled using the mouse movement. Clicking with the left mouse button causes it to attack. The E key releases a normal ability and the Q for the ultimate ability, which takes longer to load.

The teams are formed by 4 characters, the four being controlled by the same player. It is possible to change characters by pressing the number he occupies in the team (1, 2, 3 or 4), but there is a short character change cooldown. It is with these exchanges that elemental reactions are formed.

Because it is an open world RPG, you will not be stuck with the main story and can explore freely on the map. Only certain parts of the map are released as the story progresses, but there is a lot to see and look for. There are hidden challenges, special dgs, chests with weapons, materials for cooking food that recover HP or give special statuses, it is possible not only to walk and run around, but also to swim and climb.

The chests and enemies on the map respaw after a while, so there will always be something to do. There is a guide on where to find the main materials and enemies this site.

The game is single player most of the time, but it is possible to “enter the worlds” of other players and explore together from a certain level. History, however, can only be done individually.

How to get new characters

Genshin Impact currently has more than 20 playable characters, with plans for more releases over time, but how do I get these characters? This guide brings the answer!

Well, here comes a more controversial part of the game: the gacha. Some characters are available to the player as the game progresses through the story, but most are only available on banners, where you can buy materials to make summons. Banners will also give you weapons to use with your characters. It is possible to make free summons, but the number is very limited. At that moment, you will depend on how lucky you are to get the characters you like best.

How to assemble the best team

Continuing our Genshin Impact guide, there are several tutorials out there which would be the best team to play for in Genshin Impact, but the reality is that there is no fixed rule of which characters should be used, everything will depend on the situation being faced , and, of course, the player's preferences. But here are some tips:

  • Choose a good DPS: the DPS is the main element of your team, the one who will be responsible for the most damage and who you will use for the longest time. Diluc and Hu Tao are two good choices when it comes to DPS;
  • Choose a second character of the same element as the DPS for Resonance: it will be your sub DPS, the primary ally of the primary character and will assist in damage. In the case of Diluc or Hu Tao as DPS, a good choice would be Bennet, who also works as a support;
  • Choose your support: with the exception of some specific dgs, healers are not much needed during the game, so it would be better to bet on a character with buffs for the team, as is the case with Bennet. Venti is also considered one of the best supports in the game;
  • Think of elemental reactions: they serve to potentiate your damage, and are even crucial in certain situations. In this case, it depends on the player's taste or the needs of the moment;
  • And of course, "follow your heart": choose the characters you like best, as they will provide you with more fun gameplay.

How to make my character stronger

The last topic of this Genshin Impact guide will deal with constellations, artifacts and weapons. Both the characters, as well as artifacts and weapons have a rating of one to five stars, with five being the strongest and recommended.

The artifacts form combos of two or four pieces, which give special statuses to the character in question. There are five artifact slots in total, and each has two types of attributes that can vary between health, attack, defense, energy recharge, critical damage, healing bonus, among others. In addition, artifacts can be upgraded using weaker parts as material.

The best artifact combo to use will depend on each character. It is possible to get artifacts in chests, missions and defeating bosses. It is recommended, however, to only pay more attention to artifacts after an advanced level, as it requires a lot of time and delay (in-game currency).

Like artifacts, weapons are divided into five levels of rarity, with five stars being the best. There are five types of weapons according to the character being played: sword, swords, spears, catalysts and bows. Five-star weapons are obtained only through the gacha, but in smaller rarities they can be forged or found in chests.

Each weapon also has primary and secondary attributes (from three stars only) and can be upgraded in six levels, depending on your level of adventure.

And, finally, the constellations are improvements to the characters, made through the conquest of other “copies” of each. They grant improvements to each character, making them stronger. It is not extremely necessary, however, and requires more material for summons in the gacha, in addition to luck.
