Firstly, it is important to note that Frostpunk begins at the height of Victorian times and in the power of the British Empire in the XNUMXth century. With the London survivors, but those left with nothing but frozen buildings, they decide to move to the North Sea to find a new home.
According to the survivors' leaders, there are generators in the Northern Territories that can sustain life and sometimes provide a warm and safe chance for survivors of the human race.
In the FrostPunk world, there is no news about the press and social and individual freedoms. Each citizen has only a few hours to live, as he has to do approximately 12 to 14 hours of work per day.
It is up to the player to decide whether he will have freedom or work as a slave.
With little progress in the game, players will be able to train surveillance teams to search for survivors from other groups of immigrants, resources or even work robots navigating the map.
You really have to care
However, everything in Frostpunk is not limited to gathering supplies and heating the stove. You may have all the resources you need, but people's hopes for the future and life are so low that they really rebel. One of the highlights of the game's narrative is reaching a point where the townspeople realize that there are practically no other cities around them, and that city is the only safe haven left in the Northern Territories. You may think that in such a situation the people of your city will come together, but you are mistaken, the people's hopes have diminished and some of them decide to return to London.
Frost Punk forces players to make difficult decisions. When the city's temperature reaches its limit and coal resources are running low, there is no solution to save everyone. You need to send volunteers to the mine, many of whom will be killed or the mines closed, and you will see your citizens freeze to death.
In addition to the New Home story, in which you must face the many challenges of New London, there are three other scenarios, whose story is related in some way to the original scenario. And then they are released. Players who are not interested in telling stories and who want to urbanize are endless fashion. In this way, there are two options based on the taste of the players, first of all those who just want to do urban planning and don't get tired of natural disasters. The second option is for players particularly interested in getting hurt and looking for a challenge. In the second option, urbanization is not the ultimate goal, but how long it can last in the face of terrible storms and social crises.
My dear, this game is a masterpiece. I recommend it to everyone who likes civilization control games, but if this game is not your type of game, I still advise you for everything the game can show in narrative and construction. The version we played was the console version, but the title game is also available for computers.
