Fortnite Battle Royale is one of the survival game's free-to-play modes for Xbox One, PS4, PC e Android developed by Epic Games. Being the main competitor of PUBG (and even Netflix), the game challenges players to survive in increasingly smaller spaces with 99 other characters.
So, here are some tips to help you.
Play with friends
Although there is a solo mode in Fortnite, the best way to get into the first games is to play with your friends in pairs or quartets. This way, it is easier to protect yourself and be more calm when lifting buildings. Your chances of survival are also greater, taking into account that if you are knocked out in a team fight, there are more chances of you being raised by a member of your team.
In case you have no friends available, no stress! You can join a group that is created automatically, and chat with them via voice chat.
Fall in the right place
Study the Fortnite map. There are places like the south-west of Parque Pleasant, Torre Nordeste and even Duas Casas that are more likely to get equipment and chests, like higher quality weapons, and items like grenades and healing. But be careful! There are areas where a beginner can easily be shot down like Torres Tortas, for example.
One strategy to follow is to observe the plane's route, and jump in the farthest place possible, and in the process learn to control your hang glider.
Know weapons and ammunition
There are several weapons and options that can confuse the player, so if you’re new to gambling, try shotguns, pistols, rifles, and see which one suits your style of play satisfactorily.
Pay attention to the weapon levels to finish your opponents faster, see the list:
- White: Common
- Green: Uncommon
- Blue: Rare
- Purple: Epic
- Orange: Legendary
- Gold: Mythic
For each color, there is a pile of weapons with different qualities and different ammunition.
Learn to build
Construction is perhaps the main difference from Fortnite to other games in the same category. It allows you to defend yourself by building walls and ramps, while attacking by hiding behind them and aiming at an opponent.
Pick up materials such as wood, brick and metal from other players killed or searching the map. When using the pickaxe for extraction, be quick as it will make noise and show your position to enemies.
In creative mode, you can make fully customized arenas by training your building mechanics and trying to adapt your builds to each type of circumstance.
Watch the storm
As with other games in the Battle Royale genre, the map shrinks over time to stimulate the clash between players. So keep an eye on the minimap and see the distance you need to cross to escape the Storm, which as the game unfolds, gets stronger and faster than the player's movement.
Don't wait until the last minute to escape, collect items as soon as possible and go to a safe area.
There are weekly and daily challenges, complete them to advance in the Battle Pass and gain more experience in the elements of the game. Challenges range from looking for chests, eliminating enemies, collecting rocks, and even ziplining around the map.
Premium Battle Passes bring themed rewards, like the most recent, which brought Fortnite the skins of the Marvel Universe.
