Best Harvest Routes in New World

First of all, you will need to create your harvesting sickle to start harvesting the plants. This item is required for harvesting resources other than bush harvesting. You need 12 Iron Ingots (or other Level 2 metals), 3 Wood, and Thick Leather to get an Iron Harvest Scythe, which is Level II and better than a normal Stone Harvest Scythe, and can still be equipped at low levels.

If you don't have materials for it, you can opt for the Stone Harvest Scythe and just upgrade it later. Before we get to the plant harvesting routes, it's important to note that you still gain harvesting skills, no matter what your skill level is. If you are at harvesting skill level 80 and are still harvesting hemp, you will still gain skill points.

Harvest Route Level 1 to 30

Low Level Harvest Route

To get started, you'll need your own harvesting sickle. Assuming you never had a scythe before arriving at the settlement, you will have some resources at your disposal before you even harvest the plants. You can immediately create the Iron Harvest Scythe from your mined resources so you can get a bonus when you start leveling up your harvesting skill.

The first 30 harvest skill levels will be gained in the starting area. Follow the route at the top and you should be able to reach 1-15 in one spin. The respawn time of some of the resources is about 10 minutes after being harvested.

This route is short, so you'll have some downtime while waiting for them to reappear. On the bright side, you will level up your harvesting skill extremely fast because these are the starting levels. If you're tired of waiting for a reappearance, there are Fronded Petalcaps just below the settlement in Windsward. It is just above the route shown in the photo above.

You literally only have to run this route two / three times to level up to 30. This depends a lot on the server population as most players pay everything they find. If you need to scramble for resources, you'd better check out our guide to builds in New World and prepare well for PVP.

Harvest Route from Level 30 to 100

The next farming route will be just below Windsward and next to Eldergate, where you'll collect vegetables like carrots or zucchini. This area has a long river full of resources. In fact, it has so many resources for all kinds of handicrafts, which is why this route is very disputed. Follow the route above and you can start literally from anywhere. Spin around the route and you'll find different types of resources like Leafy Petal Hat, Hawthorn and hemp.

Depending on the respawn time of each resource, it may take you 15 minutes to complete it. The rise time can also vary depending on the server you are on, after all, if there are more players taking the same resources, you will need to run a little or you will be walking around an empty field. Here are the skill points you earn in raw numbers for each of the plants on the harvest route.

Leafy Petal Hat+46 Harvest Skill

Growth Plant (Lifebloom)+90 Harvest Skill
Spotted Root Flower+90 Harvest Skill

The curve near the Eldergate will only contain Leafy Petal Hat and you can really shorten the route and, starting near the yellow dot on the map, you can more easily find 2 Watercress Stem, 2 Growing Plants and a Leafy Petal Hat. Take all this and proceed to the ruined village. There will be 4 nodes with Spotted Root inside, but the problem will be dealing with the monsters, as you may need to kill one or two creatures to get all four roots.

It shouldn't be a problem as they are only level 15 monsters. After looting the village, go to the small hut near the river where there will be 2 more monsters. Defeat them and you'll get some perks, like some floating hedgehogs, and a chest.

Beside this area, you'll also see two harvest points you can use to find Watercress Stems. Keep following the river on one side and you will see about 4 Sealing Stones that give you oil if you mine them. This is a great way to level up your mining skill too. Just to the left of this oil, which would be a little way from the river, you will see 2-3 Glitters to harvest.

Return to the river and follow the route and you will see 2 more Watercress harvest points and 2 Earththorn harvest points at the end of the river. After making the U-turn, you'll see about 4-5 Hawthorns on the side, 2 Watercress and 4 oil collection points. Keep following the route and you will see 3 Iron Vein collection points. This area is right in front of the small hut where you got the floating hedgehogs.

Follow the route up the small ruins with level 21 skeletons. Avoid them if you are low level. There are two extra Plants of Life points and 1 Shocking Bulb near this tiny ruin. After you get them, run back to the river and you'll see about 5 Leafy Hats and 3 more Iron Vein points before heading back to the river. When you are near the end of the route, there will be 1 last Bulb and 1 last Plant of Life to complete the rotation.

How long it takes?

The whole process took longer for me as I was experimenting with the harvest route to improve it. I stopped mining Iron Veins because it takes a lot of time and consumes your inventory space. Getting full will keep you from being efficient because you'll need to go back to town to deposit.

Although there are other routes, this one is relatively easy to remember as you only need to follow the course of the river. Also, the time will also vary if you keep collecting available ores and oils along the way and this can also be affected by your inventory size as you may need to go empty it. It is also recommended that you look for times when there are fewer players playing these materials with you. Also, of course there are other routes that can give you the experience you need for this improvement, but the advantage of this route is that it is easy to remember and difficult for you to get lost, as you just need to follow the course of the river to complete it.

It is important to remember that it is necessary to do the route several times to be able to level up. The estimate would be 4 hours straight to go from 30 to 55 in harvesting and from 52-60 to mining using this route. It will take longer than that to get to 100 for sure, but doing it regularly for a few days will definitely speed things up.

The biggest benefit you'll get here is that these materials you're harvesting will likely also help you to maximize your Arcana skill. The sheer amount of Water Particle you'll get while harvesting the Witches will help you push Arcana to level 60 or higher. In addition to Particles, you will also use Watercress Stems to create mid-level potions.

However, this route can have a lot of traffic if other players notice. That's because the area is also good for fishing. You can see the our New World Fishing Guide if you want to improve this skill too. Also, the path may contain some additional rewards that can help you with other skills if you know how to enjoy the environment around you. Fish, kill monsters together with other players (attacking a monster that another player is killing once will give you XP too, without taking the other player's XP) or alone. It all depends on what you want to do.
