With the arrival of the new region of Teyvat, players began the search for Inazuma's new and unique weapons in Genshin Impact. Know where to find them
The arrival of Inazuma on Genshin Impact, almost a year after its release, brought not only new adventures and challenges, but also new characters that renewed Teyvat's pantheon of heroes. Now, let's agree that having a character all styled like a samurai, like Ayaka or Kazuha, and not having a weapon that matches is a little frustrating, isn't it? And if you don't get the mighty five-star Reforged Mist Cutter, your characters might get a little “unstylized”.
So, to solve the fashion issue (and guarantee good weapons to the characters without having to reach into their pockets), we'll show you here how to get Inazuma's prototype weapons for free-to-play players, as well as give tips on who can or cannot use them. Remembering that there are clearly better weapons, but getting them depends on your luck also on the draw in the gacha.
The Five Weapons of Inazuma
Many Genshin Impact players were looking forward to the new set of Inazuma themed weapons, but they're not as easy to get as you might be hoping for, it's not like in Mondstadt you visit Blacksmith Wagner and the weapons are there. This time, you need to find the prototypes to learn how to forge each one. Genshin Impact Update 2.0 introduced five new forgeable weapons to give you more weapon options for F2P players. Each weapon – sword, sword, spear, buff and bow – makes up the new Amethyst series.
The Amethyst series doesn't share the same substats and passive abilities, but they do have one thing in common. Each weapon in this series requires Pieces of Amethyst, which can only be found in Inazuma, to forge. You find them across the map, as small pieces of purple stone and can be broken with sword users or Geo powers. Each mine gives about one or two pieces and you'll need 50 of them to forge a weapon, plus the weapon prototype and white iron piece (which you can easily find around the map).

Where to find projects?
Blacksmiths can create this new weaponry from any of the game's regions, just like previously crafted weapons. However, before blacksmiths create weapons for them, Genshin Impact players must find the blueprint for each weapon.
1) Sword – Amenoma Kageuta Blade
To obtain the sword blueprint, Genshin Impact players must complete the "Farmer's Treasure" Secondary Quest. They can find this quest on Jinren Island after saving Saimon Jirou from the bandits (this is the same place where you unlock the achievement “Who Freed the Dogs”) and collecting four ancient stone slabs.
This quest is relatively easy, with no complex puzzles, and players would have no difficulty completing it. Also, reaching the end of the quest will reward them with the prototype of the Amenoma Kageuta Blade, the "Saimon Heritage Blade Diagram".
An important tip: Before getting the key to Saimon's cage, talk to him about five times, until he refuses to continue the conversation, because the dialogues between him and Paimon are quite fun.
Who should use this weapon:
The most obvious answer is Kamisato Ayaka. It's the best F2P weapon for her, as well as being the most stylish. Despite the style, she is not that efficient for Kazuha. It will look good on characters who scale their powers with the Attack attribute, so think of it for Jean or Qiqi as well. Kaeya, Xinqiu, Keqing and Traveler are viable options, but only if you don't have a better weapon for them. Albedo and Bennett don't benefit from it, so find a better one for them.
2) Sword - Great Sword of Katsuragi
Genshin players will be able to find the prototype of Katsuragi's Great Sword by opening a luxurious chest, which can be found in Tatarasuna. More specifically in that spot where there is an electro fog that does continuous damage to unprotected players.
Also, unfortunately, Tatarasuna is locked behind a barrier, and players need to complete the side quest, "Tatara Tales", to break this barrier and clear the place of fog and to explore the area with ease. To get the quest, just talk to Toranosuke at the Kujou camp and after that, you'll interact for several days at a time with an NPC named Xavier. You will receive a part of the mission every day, it is not possible to complete it once.
You can also, after breaking the barrier, explore the place freely, but you will be continually hit by the fog and will have to deal with several Fatui soldiers. If you can stand it, it's okay to try, but I advise you to clear Tatarasuna's air before going to get the prototype.
After completing the “Tatara Tales” quest and destroying the barrier, players still have one more task to complete. The luxurious chest is inaccessible behind a locked gate, so they need to find three keys, “Key to somewhere”, to open the gate.
Once the gate is opened, players can see a luxurious chest on the left side of the room. However, they should be careful, as after approaching the chest, three Automaton enemies will appear. You'd better be prepared for the clash with your best DPS and again it's advisable to go after clearing the air of electro mist.
Who should use this weapon:
So far, this great sword is recommended for the Chongyun, mainly for its secondary attribute of energy recharge. It can even be useful on Noelle and Beidou, but there are far better weapons for them, such as the Spearman with Defense substatus from Mondstadt's weapons set for Noelle. It is quite possible that it will be the ideal weapon for Sayu when it is released, but so far, there is no character that would benefit 100% from its effects.
3) Spear – Kitas Cross Spear
You can get the prototype of Kitain's Crusade Lance by completing the side quest,” Legacy of Orobashi with NPC Kaji, who can be found on the east side of Fort Fujitou. The quest itself is relatively long and has a complex puzzle that involves placing pillars in the right position and shooting an electro power at them, so that they destroy a protective barrier to get an item.
You will need to repair the four Narukami Pillars, and each pillar needs two Quest Items: a Pillar of Rock Shield Stone and a Pillar of Rock Pearl.
And to finish the quest, you'll still have to fight a Maguu Kenki in the last Pillar of Narukami, so they get ready to get the right members for the party. If you want a guide on how to beat Maggu Kenki, just visit our tutorial.
Who should use this weapon:
So far, those who would benefit from it would be spear users in the sub-DPS position, such as Xiangling and Rosaria, for the Elemental Proficiency substatus. For Hu Tao, Xiao and Zhongli it won't be useful enough, as these characters generally occupy the main DPS position. It's possible that it will be good for Raiden Shogun when it comes out, or for Thoma, as rumors say he will be a spear user, but nothing has been confirmed.
4) Catalyst – Hakushin Ring
Players can find the prototype of the Hakushin Ring by completing the "Cleanse of Yougou" side quest, a part of the Holy Sakura's Cleansing Ritual quest (I'm sad to remember the ending). The quest requires you to clear five shrines around Narukami Island while defeating the bosses in each shrine. It's an even longer and more difficult quest than the “Legacy of Orobashi” above.
You will need to explore lots of new places, solve tricky puzzles and defeat various bosses. Once they complete the Orobashi Legacy Quest, they will receive a Quest Item, “Memory Mask”. Players must open their inventory and click on the option “Use” the mask to get the catalyst prototype.
Who should use this weapon:
For now, the only person who seems to benefit from this Catalyst is Lisa. It's possible that Yae Miko will benefit from it too, but so far, we don't know what her weapon or her vision is, so for now only the main Lisa are satisfied with this prototype.
5) Bow - Demon Breaker Bow
Here is one of the most boring to get, as it depends much more on luck than anything else. This weapon scheme can be obtained mainly through exploration in Inazuma and a guessing game that can take up to seven days for you to find the right answer.
Going north of Tatarasuna, at the tip of the island, you'll find a man named Takashi living in a giant shell. There, he tells you that he is collecting a kind of mysterious shell and that if you bring him three, he will let you open one of the three common chests that are inside the shell. That's where the prototype is! Good luck finding him. You will probably only find bits of metal and vegetables for the next 5 days and by the sixth or seventh day you will get the prototype. Repeating this for seven days will also unlock a hidden “Thanks, come back often” achievement.
Who should use this weapon:
Demonbreaker Bow increases normal attack damage by 16% and charged attack damage by 12%. Also, when the team character's energy reaches 100%, this effect is increased by 100%. So, for now, it's the only weapon that can be used in just about any bow DPS. Amber, Fischl, Ganyu, Childe and probably Yoimya will be able to use it quietly with great effects. If you don't use your Elemental Blast and keep your energy at 100%, it might be a great idea to take the 100% attack bonus. But, it's a choice to be made.
