You need Windows 10, but it's fast and easy

It's finally among us: On June 28, 2021, Microsoft released the first version of Windows 11 to members of the Windows Insider program. See how to sign up and install Windows 11 Insider Preview on your computer. Windows 11 is in an initial and incomplete state. It has bugs and glitches and can corrupt your data. Therefore, only install Windows 11 Preview on a test machine and only if you have full backups of your data.

This isn't a Windows 11 product release intended for everyday use - the goal is to help Microsoft identify bugs and fix them before the full release of Windows 11 later this year. However, if you are a “pathfinder” of new technologies and want to do this upgrade, try to install the new operating system anyway, we will teach you to do this quickly and easily if your PC is compatible with the system. If not, here in this article about how to install Windows 11 on unsupported PCs, you can install Win 11 bypassing some Microsoft checks.

Minimum requirements to install Windows 11

Before we start installing Windows 11, you will first need to make sure your PC meets the system requirements. The fastest way to do this is by downloading the free app. PC Health Check from Microsoft and running it on your machine. You will receive a message that you are ready to continue or that your PC cannot run Windows 11, along with some details about why it does not meet the requirements.

The PC Health Check app will run a quick check of your system. After a few moments, you will see the result. If the message says, “This PC can run Windows 11”, you are ready to continue.

Your pc can run Windows 11

If you see a message that says “This PC cannot run Windows 11”, your device does not meet the system requirements for Windows 11. Microsoft mentions that you will still have updates for Windows 10 from now on. O Windows 10 will continue to be supported until October 14, 2025.

If your PC unexpectedly failed this test, make sure Safe Boot is enabled in the BIOS, restart Windows, and run the PC Health Check test again. If that doesn't work, see the list of system requirements below.

It is important to note that Microsoft has announced that it is relaxing some of the system requirements to meet the minimum requirements for joining the Windows Insider program during the Windows 11 viewing period.

If you prefer not to run the PC Health Check app, you can also review the Windows 11 system requirements and compare them to your machine's specs manually.

With Windows 11 reaching the end of 2021, Microsoft has announced the minimum system specifications required to run the new operating system. Knowing this, you can see if your PC with Windows 10 is up to the task.

Check below the minimum requirements to be able to run Windows 11:

Processor1GHz or faster with 2 or more cores on a supported 64-bit processor. (Microsoft provides a list of supported processors on its website).
RAM4 gigabytes or more
Storage64GB or larger storage device (such as a hard drive or SSD)
system firmwareUEFI and Secure Boot Capability
TPMTrusted Platform Module 2.0 (common on motherboards manufactured after 2016)
Video cardCompatible with DirectX 12 or later with WDDM 2.0 driver
FabricAn HD screen with a resolution of at least 720p (1280 × 720) greater than 9″ diagonally, 8 bits per color channel
Internet connection and Microsoft accountsWindows 11 Home Edition requires an Internet connection and a Microsoft account to set up the device on first use. Taking a device out of Windows 11 S mode also requires an Internet connection.

Of all these features, the TPM 2.0 requirement may be the most unexpected reason why your slightly older Windows 10 PC cannot run Windows 11. You can check your system's TPM version by running tpm.mscna in the role To execute.

In some places, Microsoft has said you'll need a device with a TPM 2.0 chip, which requires a relatively new computer. In others, he mentioned a “light” requirement for TPM 2.0 and a “heavy requirement” for TPM 1.2, which covers most computers over the past five years. This turnaround has led to opportunists trying to cash in on TPM chips.

But now Microsoft removed this verbiage, and it is no longer clear which is the case. It looks like the new minimum requirement is TPM 2.0, but Microsoft isn't communicating well. In any case, secure boot is a requirement. To make matters worse, at first, if Microsoft's compatibility tool has determined that your PC is not Windows 11 compatible, it doesn't say why.

But everything is still very confusing. So, for now, the best thing you can do is try the PC Health Check tool. But if your processor is not in the Microsoft list, the only solution is a new processor or PC.

If you still can't, we made a post explaining how to activate Windows 10 original and official, quickly and cheaply, on your PC. Here you'll see how to get a product key and activate it, without having to worry or leave the house. Read more at our post about how to activate Windows 10.
