Nasus Counter: best champions to beat you in League of Legends

Tips and everything you need to know about countering Nasus

O Nasus is one of the easiest champions to play in the top lane, being the king of late-game in only queue of League of Legends. If you let him farm wildly, his game is sure to become a million times harder and he'll load the game all by itself. So how to stop it? What are the Nasus counters? That's what we'll see!

If you're new to Lolzinho, Nasus is a great champion to start with. Your kit generally survives the patches well, undergoing insignificant changes compared to other champions on the route. It has clearly defined strength peaks that will help you understand how to prioritize your actions during and after the lane phase. So, these are basic things that even Nasus counters have to be smart about.

Although Nasus is a powerhouse at the end of the game, it can be stopped by several champions during the route phase to ensure that it does not become a snowball. In addition, there are plenty of items available to decrease his sustain or help kill him, as he has no movement skills in his kit.

Here are the best Nasus counter options to beat you on the top route.

General strategy

Nasus has one of the most predictable play styles on the upper route. He wants to stack farm with his Siphon Attack (Q) as much as possible, without exchanging damage at the beginning of the game. He excels at skirmishes (small battles) and fights when he has stacks. So, changing right at the beginning produces the opposite result to that expected for this objective.

Try to punish him every time he tries to last hit the minions to make sure he doesn't get stacks in the Q. Or, that he pays with a little life for everyone who tries to farm. Doing so will force you to be defensive. Nasus will retreat to your tower or try to fight you, both situations will benefit you. Be careful not to get close to him, as his Wither (W) is a powerful slow, which can give him enough time to reach him and cause his damage. Although at first it is not so impactful, once it starts, it can be a big problem and counter Nasus can get more difficult.

When Nasus reaches level six, it becomes a major threat, as its ultimate, Fury of the Sands (R), which is powerful in itself, increases its Siphon Attack (Q), allowing it to spam me in a short time of cooldown to destroy it in a one on one scenario.

Champions

sylas

Sylas is one of the most difficult confrontations for Nasus. Its low cooldowns, sustein and high base damage make it a major threat to the upper route laner.

Try to use your Petricite Blast (Passive) at the beginning to hurt Nasus when he tries to hit any minion with a last hit. Also, consider using your Kingslayer (W) to entice Nasus to trade with you before recovering most of your life. Work towards the Glacieterno item, which will greatly increase your power and give you easier access to make your combo, due to the slow or the Mythic item's active.

Once you reach level six, you will have access to Usurpar (R), being able to steal Nasus' ultimate and match your post-six dueling power. You can easily take him down during his ultimate, as the lowest cooldown in his Siphon Attack will not matter against Sylas, who can overcome him due to his passive. The damage increases rapidly, so try to auto-attack between abilities to maximize your damage combo.

During the mid game, use your best to steal crucial skills from the opposing team and create moves. Avoid staying in the lane against Nasus. Although you can stop it early on, it can knock you down as soon as it has some magic resistance to withstand its damage. Maintain a team fight style of play and try to kill the opposing team, but don't forget to also farm and clean the waves so that Nasus doesn't have time to push. If he does, he will be able to eventually bring down his towers and possibly the inhibitor, which will leave him far behind.

Kled

Kled is one of the best top laners in the current goal, who can take down several champions. Its movement skills and healing reduction effect are a great response to Nasus' tactics.

Use Justar (E) to get past the minions to escape melee range if the Nasus reaches you. Then trap him with a Rope Trap (Q) to do a lot of damage when the slow duration ends to punish his aggression. Use the attack speed steroid on Violent Tendencies (W) for powerful tradeoffs right from the start.

You stand out in roamings compared to Nasus, due to your Avançaaaaaaar !!! (R), which allows you to cover large distances on the map. But before attempting to rotate, make sure to push your wave of minions so that Nasus doesn't get free bricks or even bring down your turret. This can easily become a problem if it is left out of control.

Although you have a great late game, it is also important to help your teammates by ensuring that you are strong during the subsequent team fights. Try to maintain an itinerant style of play to help them get a snowball and have a good chance of winning the game.

If you kept Nasus under control from the start and he didn't get a lot of stacks, you should have no problem dealing with your push or team fight pressure. He will likely be downgraded to a split-push role without stacks, as he will only be dead during fights. Stay with him, not letting him get free stacks and punish him every time he tries to hit the last hit, preventing you from getting those valuable stacks that can turn the tide of battle.

Ornn

Ornn is a Nasus counter and does not need to punish you from the start to be effective. Ornn scales as well as the Nasus, but while one will do a lot of damage, the other will absorb a lot of damage.

Your initial objective is to obtain two main items: Galvanized Steel Boots and Bami's Ember. This combination of items makes it difficult for Nasus to drop you and gives you the ability to easily farm waves of minions and work on your items. Due to its high base damage combined with Bami's Ember, you can make initial skirmishes against Nasus and kill him if he is not playing carefully.

After obtaining your main items, you should try to group with your team, use the best for initiation and be a front line in team fights. Don't limit yourself to fighting the Nasus later, as it will become a nuisance for you when you have hundreds of stacks. You should only focus on cleaning up the waves of minions and join your team for the fights.

If you played the phase lane correctly and worked at your peak strengths, you should be equal to or ahead in gold compared to Nasus. In addition, you should already have access to your passive to improve your teammates' items. Use it on your most impactful carries to increase your stats and help them lead your team to victory.
