Time for the rematch against Archon Electro. Prepare your best DPS and go to the Euthymia Plan to put an end to the Sight Hunting Decree by facing Raiden Shogun in Genshin Impact
In your first encounter with Raiden Shogun, you went straight into combat to save Thoma and his Vision. You were taken by surprise when you were taken to the Euthymia Plan and suddenly faced the mighty Musou Shinsetsu and, when you saw it, you were already on the ground. You didn't even have time to know what was going on and you ended up defeated by this incredible opponent. But now things will be different.
During your journey through Inazuma, you've encountered Raiden Shogun a few times before, but you haven't actually met Archon Electro. With the help of Yae Miko you prepared for the fight and this time, the fight will be against the real Shogun and you will have the chance to have your rematch. Time to end the Sight-Hunting Decree once and for all. And for that, we've prepared this article to help you defeat Eternity and defeat Raiden Shogun's plans in Genshin Impact.
Please note: This article may have spoilers from the end of the main quest!
Avoid the ephemeral world. Remain in Changeless Eternity.
“His Excellency seeks to get rid of the worldly illusions of the world, but only in an attempt to overcome the cycle of life and death. No one truly understands her, but she does not deign to make herself understood… Her Excellency the Shogun is simply full of contradictions.”Kitsune Saiguu-- Advertising --
The undisputed supreme ruler of Inazuma.
Her Excellency, the Almighty Narukami Ogosho, promised the people of Inazuma an unchanging eternity to last through the ages. After purging all feelings with a merciless bolt, the loneliness of his mind became an isolated space, free from mortal joys and misfortunes...
Over the long years, the path to eternity has been dark and desolate, but Her Excellency the Shogun never wavered, not even for a moment. For true unchanging eternity is found only in the stillness that manifests itself when all noise is removed.
Skills and Strategy
Before facing Raiden Shogun, you first need to eliminate La Signora and, if you want help to fight her in this fight, then you can find the our guide to face it right here. Well, technically, Raiden Shogun is the one who finishes her off. A scene will follow where the Traveler is heading back to the city proper. She is weak and dizzy too. If you see warnings that she has a headache, press the spacebar several times until she gets out of it.
Beyond that point, there is another cinematic animation that shows Kokomi's Resistance Forces that have arrived in town and are ready to face the Shogun in person. Raiden Shogun tries to teleport to attack the Traveler, but luckily Kazuha is there. The empty vision he carries after his friend died has temporarily gained powers. This allowed him to save the Traveler. You are then transported to the Euthymia Plan, where you will face Raiden Ei, the true Archon Electro.
Fighting Raiden Shogun
Raiden Shogun is not an elite weekly or close boss. It will be a unique challenge and therefore does not release a Flower of Punishment and does not grant any type of prize, other than the prizes you will earn for completing the Quest “The Omnipresent Goddess” (925 Adventure Exp, 44.000 Lives, 30 Primogens, a Violet Memory, 4 Experience Books and 8 Weapon Refining Stones), so you won't need to spend any resin to get the rewards.
As an opponent Shogun Baal moves very quickly and unpredictably, repeating the same moves she does during the first fight.
- She alternates between attacks with her spear and attacks with her sword, the Musou Shinsetsu;
- Your normal attack is melee attacks. She will perform 6 consecutive electric strikes on the target in a fight when she is close. When the character is far away, she will move quickly to get closer;
- It will field 4 electro totems that will cause area damage throughout the arena, you need to destroy them quickly;
- It will rain lightning on enemies dealing electro damage in area;
- Raiden will begin to float and trigger his Elemental Prison, preventing any character except the Traveler from using elemental abilities.
- Baal's elemental explosion is called Musou No Ittou. It can freeze time and enemies for a few seconds. Then, the elemental explosion will deal a powerful blow with damage to all enemies. Players in the area of your elemental blast receive an electrical energy attack.
How to defeat Raiden Shogun in Genshin Impact?
During this fight, Raiden Shogun is at level 90. Therefore, all her attacks are deadly. The most important skill for defeating Boss Baal in Gnshin Impact is dodging her attacks. Also, you need to save your Burst character (that character that is mainly used to cause elemental reactions) and your stamina to run and drop attacks in Shogun's elemental damage area. When her elemental blasts are over and she's walking across the field, you'll have a few seconds to attack Baal, but she'll get back to moving and attacking quickly.
You also need a team of the best DPS, supports and elements to defeat this mighty boss. Since Baal uses sword and spear, you're better off using a Melee DPS and a Ranged DPS. Here are some rules you need to know to build the best team to fight Raiden Shogun. These tips are based on your strengths and weaknesses:
- Don't use Hydro support characters that can create you with the “Wet” status, such as Barbara or Mona, because Baal's elemental blast can combine with this condition to make the Superconductor reaction and damage your character;
- Cryo and Pyro element characters are highly recommended to fight her. For example, Diluc, Hu Tao and Klee can play the main DPS role on your team. Ganyo, Eula and Chongyun are useful sub-DPS. The elemental explosions of Xiangling and Yanfei are very effective in fighting Baal;
- Also, you must recruit a Geo character who can create a solid shield to protect your characters from Baal's attacks. Additionally, Geo characters can combine with Cryo characters to create the Crystallize reaction to deal elemental damage to Raiden Shogun. A character like Ningguang here can help create some electro shields;
- Don't use electro characters at lower levels because this Electro boss is resistant to weaker Electro attacks;

Remember the mission called “Shogun Anti-Raiden Training” that happened in the previous step? This is to prepare them for boss skills. This includes fast teleports followed by area attacks, area lightning and crescent-shaped projectiles. And yes, Raiden Shogun also does that final training blow. It will generate several electro totems that leave circular contours on the ground that will cause massive explosions. You have to destroy at least one of these small crystals fast to clear this area of a potential explosion.
Do your best to damage her and keep yourself healed using skills or eating food, as, just like in the first fight, her energy will drop very slowly. Here again, your fight is to survive and not to defeat her.
Oh, and don't forget that the boss will also cast the Sight Hunting Decree. It looks like this will happen based on a built-in timer and doesn't depend on her health. During this phase, your characters will not be able to use their elemental or blast abilities.
Despite this Prison, character autostrikes with catalyst and charged attacks from archers still do elemental damage, so it's still possible to trigger some reactions; But while you're under decree, try to avoid her attacks and just survive. After a minute has elapsed, you'll trigger a cutscene.
Turning the game
Yae Miko will appear, telling you that those who lost their visions to the Raiden Shogun are empowering you thanks to Omamori. When this happens, your party will receive a large divine bonus to their attacks, healing and energy recharge. You should be able to do a lot of critical damage and hundreds of thousands of damage, enough to lower the Raiden Shogun's health considerably.
After fully depleting Baal's energy, you'll see another cutscene. This time, it showcases Raiden Shogun's past as the Ei woman, long before her current personality was created by Archon Electro Baal. Then, she and Yae Miko will have a conversation about "Eternity" and Inazuma's continued protection.
The cutscene shows that Raiden Shogun has agreed to end the Sight Hunting Decree. Everyone rejoices, and you'll see glimpses of all the characters you've met in Inazuma. People seem to be at peace, at least for the time being.
Keep Reading if You Want to Know the End
When you go to the Great Narukami Shrine, you can talk to Yae Miko and ask her some questions. She admits that Archon Electro, Baal, had a twin named Beelzebub. Baal, who was called Mamoto, died many years ago and Beelzebub, her sister named Ei, took his place. Also, the current Raiden Shogun is just a mechanical construction, made by Beelzebub to take the throne of Inazuma. Another variant created from this persona, an initial experiment that Ei didn't want to destroy, is none other than the Fatui Scaramouche.
While Paimon celebrates that this time the Fatui failed to get Ei's Gnosis, Yae says that she actually had to hand over the Gnosis Electro (which was kept with her) in exchange for saving the Traveler's life. Also, Yae Miko suggests going to the Sumeru region next. The God of Wisdom resides there, and people worship this so-called Minor Lord Kusanali. Then, she will give you the Omamori for protection. And not. They don't know anything about the unknown Goddess and her brother/sister.
In any case, this concludes Act 3 of the Archons of Inazuma quest in Genshin Impact. It is practically the end of the great narrative arc of this region. Pat yourself on the back for coming this far. It is extremely unlikely that we will go straight to Sumeru for the 2.3 update or anything before 3.0.
This coming year will be filled with special and sporadic events and little will change until then, as it did with Liyue and Mondstadt. We will certainly have the banners of the remaining characters from Inazuma, Thoma, Gorou, Kokomi and Yae Miko herself. Maybe we'll have some undisclosed character and maybe some character left behind like Baizhou or Yaoyao. We will definitely see Dainsleaf's face again and banner reruns of some beloved characters like Ganyu and Hu Tao.
Until then, enjoy Inazuma's landscapes. You will see them for a long time.
