The Fatui's Eighth Harbinger will be your new weekly challenge and your last before facing the mighty Raiden Shogun, so learn how to defeat the Signora in Genshin Impact. And take a jacket
Remember at the end of Act I of the History of the Archons. When you were happy and satisfied after returning the Holy Lyre to Barbara and saving Mondstadt, and when you leave the cathedral, you take a blast of ice that sends Paimon away and freezes as a woman beats Venti and takes a thing that looks like a chess piece and goes away? Remember she made a deal with Zhongli to take his chess piece too? So… it's time for the rematch!
Included as a weekly boss in version 2.1, the Signora in Genshin Impact is a terrible foe and, like Tartaglia, still hides an even more powerful and appealing second form for you to face. But if you still don't know how to prepare yourself for the fight against the Eighth Harbinger, don't worry, we'll help you face this opponent. And before you go, take a coat. Youre gonna need it!
The Witch of the Crimson Flames
Her name was Rosalyne-Kruzchka Lohefalter and her origins are unknown, but it is known that she lived in Mondstadt about 500 years ago. As a single girl, she liked to sing and eventually fell in love with a boy named Rostam (referenced in the 'The Guardian' artifact set). Sometime before Khaenri'ah's Calamity (presumably just before she left), Rostam gave her a special clepsydra (a water clock) to keep track of how long she would be studying at the Sumeru Academy.
When she returned, she learned that Rostam had died in battle against the monsters during the calamity and mourned his loss. After her grief, she decided to use “the flame of her life” to cleanse “the evil from the world”, becoming the Witch of the Crimson Flames. It was said that she abandoned her mortal body and instead let the liquid fire flow through her. Although she only burned monsters (and demons), she was feared by the people.
She was then recruited into the Fatui by Pierro. She received an illusion from Cryo to suppress her flames and became known as La Signora, the Eighth of the Eleven Harbingers Fatui.
The Imperial Duel
Unlike other Fatui who use the authority granted by Illusions, your Illusion is intended to chain a flame that will devour everything. Unlike a weapon used for killing, it may be more appropriate to consider it a binding tool. And it was the embers of that flame, which had accumulated over many years, that would break the icy seal of the Illusion and create a twisted aspect about it.
Crimson dawn reflected in her pupils, and at last she unfurled her flaming wings and flew toward the light. “But that light isn't dawn, dear Rosalyne. This is a sea of flame that will consume everything.” A voice spoke to her in the light. However, it didn't matter, for she knew in her heart that the flames had devoured her long ago.File
To face the Signora, you must first complete the Quest “Quest of the Archons Chapter II, Act III: Omnipresence over Mortals,” which you automatically receive as you progress through the main quest. After discovering that the Clan Kojou family was plotting with the Fatui and distributing illusions among the resistance soldiers, you head to Tenshukaku Palace behind Kojou Sara, but arrive too late to help her and find her lying at the feet of the Signora who was talking to Raiden Shogun.
Following Yae Miko's plan, you challenge Fatui to a duel in front of the imperial throne, something that is readily accepted by the Shogun, then, agreeing to the terms, Signora will begin combat with her Cryo Illusion and attack you with attacks focused on this element, after that, will lock in a cocoon of ice and then release its last form, the Witch of Crimson Flames, and begin fighting using the Pyro element.
When defeated, the player must use 30/60 Original Resins to collect their rewards, which consist of Adventure and Friendship Exp, Artifacts, and Character Ascension Material for Cryo and Pyro element users, in addition to being able to receive Weapon Prototypes and Solvents of Dreams. Once defeated, you can fight it as many times as you like, but it will only release the prizes once a week.

“I had a very, very long dream. I dreamed that you and I met again in the pure white world we created. But I finally awoke, having long been consumed by the raging flames, while you have long since returned to earth along with that poisoned blood. But none of that matters anymore. I must keep moving forward. I must incinerate everything behind me. I must believe in that pure, immaculate and eternal realm of which he spoke – which I saw in the 'illusion' he let me see, at the end of the horizon of His Majesty's dreams.”

The ice seal was broken under duress, and when her old testament emerged from its pale white prison and she remembered her old name once more, the immortal butterfly danced amidst the burning flesh and blood. And she remembered her past, wandering the earth, spreading the flames, burning away all evil – and she remembered the face of the person she could never meet again.
No character uses Hellfire Butterfly to level their talents yet.

Even tears cannot quench the flames. Agony and molten hatred course through his veins, oozing from his tear ducts.
The First Fatuus found her just before her heart was destroyed by the eternal fire. He understood that only the deepest hatred and obsession could extinguish the fire that devoured her and make her his ally...

Skills and Strategy
At first, Signora will use Cryo-based attacks through her Illusion. During this phase, Extreme Cold will accumulate, once the meter is full, the player will lose -1% HP per second. In the middle of battle, the Pure Cold rate accelerates. Flame hearts will be placed on the edges of the arena to contain their effects.
Fighting the Signora
All your attacks will cause a Frozen Ground effect: the ground will be covered in ice, dealing Cryo damage to anyone passing over it. In addition, their attacks also amplify the buildup of Extreme Cold if the player is hit by them.
- Cold Storm: Ice rains down in a small area, to deal Cryo damage;
- Ice Fragments: Summons a group of ice shards in a straight line, dealing Cryo damage;
- ice flower: Imbues three ice flowers that will explode after a short period of time;
- frozen wheel: Hurls a wheel of ice fragments that move in a circular arc, dealing quick Cryo damage. This is usually done as a follow-up to your Ice Shards attack;
- blizzard attack: Signora teleports to the player character's position, releasing a small explosion dealing Cryo area damage on impact. She can also perform this attack if the player stays too close to her;
- Glacial Missiles: Signora launches five ice spears that hit the player character one after the other. This attack can be difficult to avoid due to its stalking property;
- Tsaritsa's Benevolence: Signora casts six ice spears that encircle the player character before converging on them, dealing Cryo damage;
- Cold void: Signora marks the player character with a spike of ice before hitting him. The icy ice will explode in a few seconds, dealing massive Cryo damage;
- Ice Cocoon: La Signora will relocate in the center of the arena to imprison herself inside a large ice when her HP drops critically. During this phase, Extreme Cold will build up very quickly and it will attack the player with icicles and ice flowers. This phase is similar to the Hypostais Cryo Glacial Shield.
Crimson Flame Moths will appear and can be collected. This will imbue your attacks with the Pyro, dealing bonus Pyro damage against your cocoon. Using Elemental Reactions, especially Melt, will also help to destroy your cocoon.
Fighting the Crimson Flame Witch
Now assuming her former form, Signora uses Pyro-based attacks. During this, the Flaming Heat will quickly build up. When the meter is full, the current player character will lose -1% HP per second. Eyes of the Freeze will be placed on the edges of the arena to neutralize its effects.
All your attacks will cause the Burning Earth effect: the ground will melt for a short time, dealing Pyro damage to anyone standing on it. In addition, their attacks also amplify the buildup of Flaming Heat if the player is hit by them.
- Flaming Whip: Use a Fire Whip to attack characters, dealing Pyro damage. This attack comes in three variations;
- A simple whip attack for a close range attack;
- Another combination of two lashes with your whip;
- A ranged attack that will leave 3 flaming marks on the ground. The battered ground will also trigger explosions of fire;
- Fire ball: hurls a rolling fireball at players;
- Teleport: Teleports to a designated area to reposition;
- Witch's Fury: Teleports forward to release waves of lava flames, dealing Pyro damage in area;
- Infernal Massacre: La Signora will spread her wings to summon a flock of tiny hellfire butterflies in front of her;
- Infernal Butterfly: Signora summons an Infernal Butterfly that envelops the player character dealing Pyro damage;
- Flame Rematch: La Signora spins to transform into a blazing tornado that moves around the arena dealing Pyro damage. The tornado will also trigger 4 mini-tornados around you. At the end of the duration, Signora will spread her wings in the middle of the arena to release intense heat along with 4 other mini-tornados, greatly accumulating the stat of Blazing Heat.
Like Childe's fight, Signora is more resistant to Cryo and Pyro attacks during their respective phases. Signora begins the fight in her Harbinger state, using Cryo attacks. Your attacks will generate Extreme Cold which can build up quickly if the player is hit by your attacks. To contain the Extreme Cold, there are four Hearts of Flame in the corners of the arena, which slowly remove this accumulation. They can also be destroyed to instantly remove all accumulated Extreme Cold and prevent Frost Floor appearing near them.
Upon reaching 20% of her health, Signora will engage similarly to Hypostasis Cryo. It will periodically attack the player with ice fragments or bomb the arena to generate the Frost Floor. The Pyro's reactions do more damage to the ice, but red butterflies occasionally appear around the area to imbue the player's next attack with a strong Pyro bonus, much like using Crimson Agates in Dragon's Spine. After the ice is destroyed, the Witch of Flames phase begins.
Just like in Childe's fight, a cutscene will occur and Signora will reposition herself in the middle of the arena, with the player away. It won't attack unless the player moves or hits it first. At this stage, she starts using Pyro attacks. The phase is similar to the previous one – Eyes of Freezing will appear in the same places as Hearts of Flame and Extreme Cold is replaced by Blazing Heat. Signora's attacks become stronger and cover a greater range compared to the previous phase.
Upon reaching 20% of her health, Signora will transform into a blazing tornado as she moves across the arena, unleashing smaller tornadoes across the room. She cannot be attacked in this state and the player will have to wait for the attack to end before she can be injured again.
Be careful choosing your characters here, as the elements she uses are opposites, and bringing a Pyro character to contain the Signora's Cryo phase might seem like an idea, but they were at a disadvantage when she entered the Crimson Witch phase. And the reverse is also true. Hydro characters might also seem like a good idea against the Pyro phase, but be careful not to get frozen by it in your Cryo phase. Chongyun, Diluc and Eula can be a good one if they are more focused on physical damage. Ganyu will be awesome in the Pyro stage.
A good idea might be to use characters from the Geo element, as although they are not particularly strong against either of the Signora's two elements, they generate shields that can be useful against Extreme Cold and Blazing Heat. So Zhongli, Noelle, Albedo and Ningguang could be good additions to the team. Electro characters aren't particularly strong against her elements either, but at least their attacks won't be reduced by her resistances.

Anemo must also be considered carefully. If your Anemo attack, like the Traveler's Tornado, Sayu's Fufu Whindwell, or Sucrose's Elemental Explosion can absorb any element other than Pyro or Cryo (which is difficult) you'll be able to deal a good deal of extra damage. . If not, it's just the anemo character's damage. Kazuha, able to absorb two elements with his Elemental Blast might be a good choice here. Venti is always welcome in any party that needs an anemo character.
Consider well before destroying the Eyes of Freezing and Hearts of Flame. Removing the Cold and Heat effects bit by bit can be better in the long run and can keep you alive longer than removing these effects all at once. Also, preventing the ground from receiving the effects of Flaming Earth and Frozen Ground might seem like a good deal, but if you've destroyed the object that was helping you, you won't want to stand there too long for anything. Another thing is that, in a few seconds, the effect will be there again! So, you have lost a resource that can help you in the long run in exchange for a few seconds of advantage.
