Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Extraction (January 20)

It is a multiplayer tactical shooter developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. A spin-off of Rainbow Six Siege (2015), Extraction is a cooperative multiplayer game in which players must work together to fight and defeat a type of parasitic aliens called Archaeans. The game is scheduled to be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Amazon Luna, Google Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and Series S on January 20, 2022

Rainbow Six Extraction is a cooperative multiplayer game that can support up to three players. In Extraction, operators must infiltrate an alien-infested location and complete objectives such as collecting samples, extracting materials from computers, and gathering information. Each game session, known as a “raid”, is made up of three interconnected sub-maps, and players will be assigned any of twelve objectives randomly on each sub-map.

The location of objectives and placement of enemies are procedurally generated. Once the player has secured their objective, they can choose to mine themselves or explore the next submap. The new area would be more difficult than the previous one, but players would receive more rewards for successfully completing them. Early extraction ensures all operators are safe. If an operator is taken down by an enemy, he will disappear in action and players will not be able to play with him until they rescue him in an extraction mission. Characters who are severely injured in the previous mission will also remain injured and will only recover slowly.

Many Siege Operators return in Extraction as they formed the Rainbow Exogenous Analysis and Containment Team (REACT) to contain the alien threat. Before the start of any mission, players can choose their operator from a pool of 18. Each operator has their own unique weapons and gadgets. For example, Pulse has a heart rate sensor that allows it to detect enemies through walls, while Alibi can deploy a holographic decoy to distract enemies.

Team composition is essential for success, as players in the same session must select three different characters. Like Look for, players can send recon drones to scout the area, reinforce doors and windows to seal entrances, and shoot through walls. Players must work together and coordinate with each other to succeed. The game has a ping system that allows players to reveal the location of hostile threats and resources to other players.
