Best games in 2019 at The Game Awards

At the end of last year, we had the long-awaited The Game Awards! While the event was taking place, we at Married Games were live on both Twitch, as in Facebook. That moment was so special that all (or almost) we had the webcam on, hahahaha.

But the question here and now is to list, based on the Game Awards, the 10 best games of 2019. I will be using the public opinion issue as a basis with a little bit of my impact as well. But I bet you'll like the list anyway.

10. Resident Evil 2 Remake

I know and admit that this remake is sensational, but I have a reason to put this game in 10th place. Discussing this even in live, we all managed to reach a conclusion that was quite obvious.

Resident Evil 2 Remake it wasn't even supposed to be on the list for a single reason, the game is a remake of another game. So it wouldn't be a novelty, understand? Even so, we can put you in a "position of honor" or in this case, in tenth place.

9 Apex Legends

Despite all its controversy with the release and the first season of the game. Apex Legends emerged in the world of Battle Royales and managed to remain very high today!

He will definitely be with a direct rival on that list. Because both games are sensational, it seems that one completes the other in this new world of games, the Battle Royales.

8. The Plague Tale: Innocence

What to say about this work of art in the gamer world? Although I don't have the wonderful experience of testing the smallest details of the game, I can still talk a little about it. Basically following some content and seeing public opinion on A Plague Tale.

One of the main reasons why the game has gained my attention a lot, is mainly for its history. For the simple fact of dealing with a very important subject for real world history. Besides of course all the depth and immersion that the game at least passes to me.

7. Tetris 99

Good part for the meme, but in fact for those who played Tetris 99 in 2019, without a doubt spent a lot of time in the game. In terms of popularity, we owe a lot to the streamers and youtubers who talked about Tetris.

In short, Tetris wins this position more for the sake of community and its new Battle Royale mode, hahaha. But we must also remember that the game is really well done and works amazingly in online mode.

6. Grey

I believe that the best story game on that topic, ladies and gentlemen ... what a profound story. First of all, I must comment on a slightly smaller detail, but equally incredible to the message of the game. That beautiful and wonderful game art.

Dude when I hit my eyes in all that scenery rich in details, those fluid animations and everything fit together very well ... I freaked out. Finally, the game sends a message about depression and all the chaos that has appeared in the person's life ever since. What an amazing game ...

5.Death Stranding

Another story game, this time the game of the famous Hideo Kojima, Death Stranding. Although many do not like the gameplay and its mechanics at all, we must agree that the story is fantastic. A great competitor for the best games of 2019!

Death Stranding is that game that would easily be the Oscar-winning film of the year. Basically, the whole construction of the world we are in, the construction of characters, every single event even in gameplay ... everything matters here!

Going back to what I said in Apex, here we are with a very strong competitor for the best of the year. I'll be honest, I don't even know where to start with Fortnite. Because the game brought so much news this year, it is difficult to even make a "top 10 best event".

Anyway, let's take the obvious. Briefly in theory, one of the best games of 2019 came out of its early access now with Fortnite 2. But in addition to everything that happened in 2019 in the game, for sure the game scored and will be remembered for a long time!

3. Super Smash Bros. ultimate

We got there, top 3 best games of the year, this part I was sick thinking and putting the list together, hahahaha. Being very brief, explaining why a “repetitive” game is in third place. Hype, everyone expected, everyone played, everyone loved it.

Basically this is why Smash Bros has captivated so many players in 2019. I would venture to say that this is probably the best cross over of different universes that I have ever witnessed. In short, Smash Bros has achieved everything it has until today for its impeccable partnerships.

2. Devil May Cry 5

Demons can cry 5, at the time of the live it was my favorite at all times, DMC was the one I wanted to take home the prize, but it wasn't. First of all, I must say that my first impression with the game was horrible, but after a while ... I started to love it very much.

With its new story, the same striking and fast gameplay of Devil May Cry 4 and the best characters of the entire franchise. This latest game in the franchise manages to fulfill its role as DMC successor very well. Undoubtedly one of the best games of 2019!

1. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

Another disastrous encounter in my first Brasil Game Show already participating here at Married Games. In fact I had no idea that the game was from FromSoftware that made all the SoulsBorne saga we know.

Ironically, Sekiro won the Game Awards and guess what… well, after a few months I understood all the reasons. For it was just in January 2020 that a wonderful friend of mine bought me Dark Souls II.

So with the month almost over, I will already be doing Dark Souls II, I already knew all the lore in the saga, I have also played (borrowed), Dark Souls I and Dark Souls III. Anyway, ladies and gentlemen, I'm in love with FromSoftware… and I'm just waiting for the opportunity of a promotion to acquire Sekiro! For sure the best game of 2019.
