Fortnite will be able to receive a new non-combat mode with a new map, initially called Party Royale. At first the name of the new map project is Papaya and will have locations to exchange skins in real time, being a smaller version of the main island.
The goal is for you to challenge your friends and other players to mini-games, such as racing and football. It also has a non-combat mode. "Party Royale is a new experimental and evolving space," says the message. "Leave your weapons and carpets behind."
This new mode aims to put weapons aside a little and simply spend time with your friends or making new friends.
It seems a somewhat different idea than what we are used to seeing at Fortnite events, which likes to innovate and surprise its players. It looks like Epic will focus more on that social aspect of Fortnite with the addition of Party Royale, encouraging players to relax and interact.
An even bigger surprise is that testing of the mode is now active: Epic's email suggested the party would start on Friday, but Fortnite Intel's FireMonkey found the doors opened today, and an Epic representative confirmed that the new mode is in fact accessible now.
Party Royale has the tests scheduled for Friday still planned, although this time is subject to change. We will undoubtedly hear more about this very soon.
Travis Scott's recent show attracted 27,7 million unique players, and even more conventional events in the game, like the big rocket launch a few years ago, draw large crowds.
