The current Fortnite season is all about Marvel, with various types of superhero skins, cosmetics and collectibles for players to choose from. It also includes adding some new Marvel-themed locations and landmarks to the map, most recently adding a huge Black Panther statue, a tribute to Chadwick Boseman.
The appearance of the statue, which can be found not far west of Cordillera City, comes just days after the death of the Black Panther star, Chadwick Boseman, who died of colon cancer on August 28 at the age of 43. Epic told Kotaku that the addition had been planned earlier and was not made in response to Boseman's passing.
“Like the rest of the world, we were very sad to hear of the death of actor Chadwick Boseman. The Black Panther monument arrived this morning as part of a previously planned narrative for the new Chapter 2, Season 4 ”.A representative said.
Permanent Black Panther statue?
However, Fortnite players have been using the Black Panther statue to honor Boseman, sharing images and clips of the site on Twitter and Reddit.
Some leaks have indicated that a Black Panther skin may also enter the game soon. Fortnite's dataminer, HypeX confirmed that it found files for Black Panther's exclusive absorption powers in the game. Just as players can use Dr. Doom's exclusive weapons, players will be able to absorb blows and then launch them at enemies like the hero Wakanda.
Some fans are also asking for the money raised from the sale of the new Black Panther skin to Fortnite to be donated to charities. That would be incredible, an excellent idea. What do you think?
"We need a Wakanda Forever emote," wrote a Redditor. The world is mourning the loss.
"I hope the Black Panther statue next season, instead of just disappearing," said IOnlyPlayAsTomato. The players are landing there and refusing to fight to honor Boseman. Some hope that the site will become permanent.
