Fortnite's 35 Best Skins

Want to make your character look stylish while fighting for a Royal Victory? So find out which are the best Fortnite Skins and go for it

As a free game, Epic Games' Battle Royale's main draw, Fortnite, for making money comes in the form of a dark thing: microtransactions. “Battle Passes”, “V-Bucks” and other little things.

These are terms familiar to the most avid Fortnite gamers; the first one offers new skins and other cosmetic things the more you play the more things you release or you can opt for a paid battle pass, using the other thing, the V-Bucks, which is the game's currency. With it you can buy skins or gliders from Fortnite. All this to make your game more attractive and fun for you.

Skins, also known as costumes, are a highly desired item in any multiplayer game. In Overwatch, they are randomly captured in loot boxes with special edition skins hitting during events. In multiplayer games, skins embellish tiny pixels on the screen that you hardly ever get a good look at. In Fortnite, skins are a mark of wealth in the free-to-play world.

They show other players on the battlefield that, “hey, I have the money to spend on this game” and, in some cases, “I have time to play until I get the most coveted skins” of the battle passes as well. Everyone looks remarkably inferior compared to you when your puppet isn't just a standard game character.

Fortnite Best Skins

And so, we decided to rank the top 35 Fortnite skins out of the hundreds available in the game. Some can even be earned on a rotating basis (the store is updated daily) and can be purchased via V-Bucks, which can be earned (slowly) in-game or purchased with real-world money.

Fortnite also offers a Seasonal Battle Pass, which costs 950 V-Bucks for the intro level, or 2.800 V-Bucks through its Premium version that starts at level 25. If you're too eager to grind for experience, you can you can also level up faster with V-Bucks by buying EXP up to the next level.

Other Fortnite skins, unfortunately, were taken away by time and the promise of exclusivity for that season – although some made surprise appearances, quick returns to the daily store. It's a shame too, as some of the best skins in Fortnite turn out to be the rarest. (Funny how that works, right?).

meaty boss

The 35 best fortnite skins | 0900108d meaty | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still in rotation? Yes
  • Rarity: epic (Purple)
  • Cost: 1.500 V-Bucks

Chubby Boss is the dumbest name for a skin and it still works. It's essentially another variant of the Tomato Head skin, featuring a recognizable pet different from the Fortnite map. It's the head of Durr Burger, with its big, characteristic tongue. There's hardly anything special, with the exception of the giant hamburger face, but for that excellent name – Chef Meaty – he deserves a spot on this list.

breaded

The 35 best fortnite skins | 95c0df2a banana | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still available? Yes
  • Rarity: Epic (Purple)
  • Cost: Level 47 in Season 8 Battle Pass (Basic Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks)

Like all of Fortnite's pet characters, there's something nasty about Foaming's sharp, hollow eyes. He's a walking banana, maybe talking. It's obviously a man in a banana outfit, but it's still a big old banana. It may not be the best skin strategy (I mean, come on, it's easy to spot a giant banana across the field), but it's silly, characteristically the same as the other dumb skins in Fortnite. It's not the most memorable of the pet skins but it's still a great skin.

tomato head

The 35 best fortnite skins | 96715431 tomatoes | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still in rotation? Yes
  • Rarity: epic (Purple)
  • Cost: 1.500 V-Bucks

The Tomato Head skin is kind of scary. It's based on the proprietor Tomato Town, a location on the Fortnite map that features a fast food diner. The gigantic tomato head that spins and spins from the top of a pole is a must-see landmark, so Epic Games decided to honor it with the Tomato Head skin.

The skin itself is unsettling – the tomato helmet is the most unpleasant part of it, obviously – but it's lively on the battlefield. You can even upgrade Tomato Head to a much scarier version, equipped with a makeshift crown, if you complete certain challenges while wearing the skin.

Mr. Nibble

The 35 best fortnite skins | 22b56b13 nibbles | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still in rotation? Yes
  • Rarity: Legendary (Orange)
  • Cost: 2.000 V-Bucks

Mr. Nibble looks like someone's half-assed Halloween costume, and that's what makes him so sick. Like someone rummaging through his closet and finding an old diving suit, then cutting a hood out of something and sewing together felt teeth to make it look like a shark's head. And then they put diving goggles on the skin's face, just because.

World Cup Skins

The 35 best fortnite skins | cb6c1534 cup | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins

  • Rarity: N/A
  • Cost: 1.200 V-Bucks

Fortnite entered the world of football with some special skins for a limited time. It would be useless to single out one, although all eight have their own unique names, because no matter which body you choose, skins can be styled according to one of 24 competing countries. The number can also be personalized, either to highlight a favorite player or just your personal lucky number. We've seen evolveable Fortnite skins in the past (like Omega), and it would be nice to see more customizable World Cup themed skins in the future as well.

sergeant winter

The 35 best fortnite skins | b3bf44f5 winter | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still available? Not
  • Rarity: epic (Purple)
  • Cost: Level 23 on Season 7 Battle Pass (Basic Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks)

Did you see that new Christmas movie on Netflix with Kurt Russell as Santa Claus? The premise is basically: "What if Santa Claus was brucutu with a lot of attitude?" Epic captured that vibe with Sergeant Winter, the skin in Fortnite from Season 7. He is Santa Claus, but he is ready to fight a war. Your beard also protects you from the cold, I think.

Wukong

The 35 best fortnite skins | 9f5dad9f wukong | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still in rotation? Not
  • Rarity: legendary (Orange)
  • Cost: 2.000 V-Bucks

Wukong is where buying skins started to get a little more expensive. Released at the time of Chinese New Year as part of a holiday celebration, the Mythical Soldier shines prominently on the battlefield. It is based on the Monkey King from the Chinese legend “Journey to the West”, the same legend that author Akira Toryama used to create his greatest work, Dragon Ball.

His shoulder blades shine because of his shining gold armor. If you crave the potential (but not really any potential) to blind an enemy on the treacherous battlefield with your shoulder blades, then Wukong is one of the best skins to have for its sheer brilliance.

Lupino

The 35 best fortnite skins | ae504e2c lupin | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still available? Not
  • Rarity: Legendary (Orange)
  • Cost: Level 100 in Season 6 Battle Pass (Basic Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks)

At first, it's just a guy in normal clothes. He looks boring. And then the skin level goes up, and Lupine starts to take shape. It doesn't begin to change until Level 3, where the Big Bad Wolf takes its form. The higher the level, the more complex the wolf becomes. Going from an ordinary human to a hybrid, a full-fledged werewolf, and then, at level 5, he becomes a werewolf with white fur.

Recruit

The 35 best fortnite skins | 817de6ae recruit | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still available? Not
  • Rarity: epic (Purple)
  • Cost: Level 87 on Season 5 Battle Pass (Basic Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks)

Recruit isn't quite at the top, but the skin is still interesting compared to the rest. It's a battle-ready skin, with the character wearing a bulletproof vest and an outfit that looks like she just got off work and had to take the Battle Bus to go home and find a Royal Victory. She is equipped with glasses too, which completes the look. In the grand scheme of the skins, Recruit is one of the most subtle and really prepared for the real battle.

Bunny Fighter

The 35 best fortnite skins | 84e971dd rabbit | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still in rotation? Yes
  • Rarity: epic (Purple)
  • Cost: 1.500 V-Bucks

Between the two Fortnite Easter related skins – Fighter and Marauder – the first one is much cuter. The skin dresses the player in an adorable jumpsuit that looks like pajamas from a kindergarten closet.

-- Advertising --

The Bunny Fighter stands out as one of the skins that may not be tactically efficient, as her pastel blue and pointy bunny ears can stand out in the lush green world of Fortnite, but so what? The skin is adorable. So who cares?

moth

The 35 best fortnite skins | 4e2dcd9e moth | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still in rotation? Yes
  • Rarity: epic (Purple)
  • Cost: 1.500 V-Bucks

The Moth-Man is the subject of folklore, horror stories, urban legends. The Moth in Fortnite, however, only likes to get close to the light. Like a normal moth! It's honestly not that threatening, but his big bulging eyes and animal behavior make him kind of cute all the same.

Technically, it's just a man in a gas mask made to look like a moth, but if you squint from a distance, you might think a moth has infiltrated your Fortnite game – better kill.

strong wake up

The 35 best fortnite skins | 47f55959 strong | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still in rotation? Yes
  • Rarity: Legendary (Orange)
  • Cost: 2.000 V-Bucks

Acorde Forte seems like a strange and sad character with a wrong view of what punk is. It's like the craziest outfit combination than a Saints Row game. Or a member of a Guitar Hero band.

Although it looks very strange in its aesthetics, the end result is actually very beautiful. In other words, I'm really interested in the white mesh top under the ripped top and the pink hair, to stand out among Fortnite players, this is the most amazing option.

Music Operations

The 35 best fortnite skins | e8240811 musicals | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still in rotation? Yes
  • Rarity: epic (Purple)
  • Cost: 1.500 V-Bucks

It's pretty much a stereotype from the 1970s, but ignoring that, Music Operations is one of the best Fortnite skins to ever grace the Battle Royale. With a stunning vest, headband and killer glasses, this skin is a throwback to a long-lost era, even if it's a stereotypical version of it. Anyway, if you're a big fan of Austin Powers or something, then Music Operations is probably the right skin for you.

little hood

The 35 best fortnite skins | d620fb86 hat | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still available? Not
  • Rarity: Legendary (Orange)
  • Cost: Level 47 in Season 6 Battle Pass (Basic Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks)

Little Riding Hood is essentially Little Red Riding Hood in Fortnite. She has long red braids, a hood, and looks like she's about to hop off through the woods to go to grandma's house while someone with Lupino skin is behind her. It's a relatively simple skin, but it's adorable. And sometimes, simple and cute things are best.

Ice king

The 35 best fortnite skins | 58b50225 ice | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still available? Not
  • Rarity: Legendary (Orange)
  • Cost: Level 100 in Season 7 Battle Pass (Basic Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks)

Awaiting you at level 100 Pass, the Ice King is one of the toughest skins of season 7, and yet the most coveted. The King of Ice in Fortnite looks like the King of Night from Game of Thrones mixed with the Raven skin from Fortnite itself. He's cold, he's scary and he's ready to finger everyone in real battle. Will you face it?

Omega

The 35 best fortnite skins | c94732e9 omega | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still available? Not
  • Rarity: Legendary (Orange)
  • Cost: Level 100 in Season 4 Battle Pass (Basic Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks)

The Omega skin is Fortnite Season 4's most coveted Battle Pass skin. It's not possible until you unlock Level 100, which takes a long, long time for most players (unless they pay). With this season's superhero theme, the Omega skin is an all-black full-body outfit.

Honestly, it looks a bit like the Black Panther, just with the red replaced by the white accents. Of course, it's not really Black Panther. But if you squint and have a little imagination, it basically is.

  • Rarity: legendary (Orange)

They turn players into Cupid himself, but only as a Cupid made of stone. It is a unique skin among those available in Fortnite due to its build and giant wings on its back. Like the Valentine's Day themed skin, the probability of reappearing in the daily rotation is very small.

But on the off chance of her returning to Fortnite on a Valentine's Day date, it's bigger. As a bonus: in 2019, Epic released a variant of the Guard of Love, making it dark and scary. The stern Cupid is called the Guard of Fallen Love.

Dark Voyager

The 35 best fortnite skins | e4e698c1 voyager | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still available? Not
  • Rarity: Legendary (Orange)
  • Cost: Level 70 in Season 3 Battle Pass (Basic Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks)

Fortnite Season 3 Battle Pass has the most stacked collection of exclusive skins to date. Dark Voyager is among them. There are three astronaut-inspired skins for the particular collection, but Voyager Sombrio trumps the others with its all-black look. It would be great if Fortnite had a space map, because then you would really blend in with the darkness of the universe. If you've ever dreamed of being an astronaut and taking part in a real battle, there's no better skin for you.

Twilight

The 35 best fortnite skins | b9a1e605 twilight | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still available? Not
  • Rarity: Legendary (Orange)
  • Cost: Level 71 in Season 6 Battle Pass (Basic Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks)

Twilight looks out of place alongside the other Season 6 skins, but that doesn't mean it isn't cool. Fortunately, it doesn't require that extra effort that evolveable skins do: it looks good from the moment you get it. The skin of Twilight is a vampire with very pale skin, her hair is a bit messy, her outfit makes her look like someone who could join the batfamily.

bravura

The 35 best fortnite skins | 5733b7d6 bravery | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still available? Not
  • Rarity: Legendary (Orange)
  • Cost: Level 71 in Season 4 Battle Pass (Basic Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks)

Bravery is one of seven skins introduced in the last Battle Pass of Season 4 of Fortnite. It's the most iconic of the heroic-themed season, featuring a woman in a superhero outfit. She looks really, really cool and out of place in Fortnite, like she's about to save a school bus from kids instead of taking up arms and blasting strangers on a meteor-stricken island. It's this unexpected quality that makes Bravura stand out in Season 4's Battle Pass.

rebellion

The 35 best fortnite skins | 54f25353 rebellion | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still in rotation? Yes
  • Rarity: epic (Purple)
  • Cost: 1.500 V-Bucks

The Rebellion robots are really cool and offer welcome twists for the usual soldiers and combat-ready girls. They're robots, but they're outfitted in tattered clothes to show that they're not just obedient robots. And if they did talk, they would probably have an attitude full of willpower too.

throw nuts

The 35 best fortnite skins | bb6df008 nuts | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still in rotation? Not
  • Rarity: legendary (Orange)
  • Cost: 2.000 V-Bucks

Nutthrower is an absolutely scary skin. At first you may think this is an ordinary man, but he is not an ordinary man. He is a man who uses a giant nutcracker head for some reason. There are no nuts to crush and it's a tactically bad skin to use. However, artistically, it is one of the best in Fortnite.

firm chat girl

  • Still available? Not
  • Rarity: epic (Purple)
  • Cost: 1.500 V-Bucks

Seriously, with this name adapted to Portuguese, anyone who understands the reference feels old automatically! Besides, it's very strange to see a hippie girl in the middle of the battlefield. You see it and think she's going to put a daisy in the barrel of your gun and make you sing 'Imagine'. However, being a shooting game, it's best not to wait and see what happens. “Living for love, music and something else she doesn't remember…” But, we know what this thing is!

firewalker

  • Rarity: epic (Purple)
  • Cost: 1.500 V-Bucks ($15)

To celebrate Lunar New Year, the dragon face skin has entered the game. It was a snap and you'll miss one type of skin, but it has quickly incorporated the history of Fortnite's many, many skins as one of the absolute best, even advancing ahead of Wukong's Lunar New Year's celebration skin from Epic, the previous year.

black heart

The 35 best fortnite skins | d76aacf5 heart | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still available? Yes
  • Rarity: Legendary (Orange)
  • Cost: Level 1 in Season 8 Battle Pass (Basic Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks)

When you unlock Blackheart for the first time in Season 8's Battle Pass, the pirate boy has a lot more in common with our hooded introduction to Aragorn in “The Lord of the Rings” than someone we'd imagine singing “yo ho, yo ho , the life of a pirate for me.” Over time, however, the skin evolves. There are 11 stages, by the way, including the first one. At 80.000 XP, Blackheart changes for the better; the skin on your face dissolves and all that's left is a skull that has the ability to hold a beard. Also available are color swaps for the most basic look, unlocked by completing Weekly Challenges.

Pink

  • Rarity: epic (Purple)
  • Cost: 1.500 V-Bucks ($15)

For Halloween, Epic Games not only brought back some skins from the past, but also introduced new ones. Best among them were the Muertos skins, based on the annual celebration of Dia de los Muertos, Dante and Rosa.

The skins themselves are elaborately designed and, unlike most skins, they are also reactive. In the dark, their face paint glows, making them glow in the dark. Both skins are equally amazing.

  • Still in rotation? Yes
  • Rarity: Legendary (Orange)
  • Cost: 2.000 V-Bucks

Skin Hime is not part of season 6, but it was released between season two. It is a legendary skin in rotation and also very beautiful. It's one of two samurai themed skins, and the level of detail in both skins is definitely a notch above most Fortnite skins. But for the Hime skin in particular, its design is particularly complex.

Ragnarok

The 35 best fortnite skins | 82b81d56 ragnarok | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still available? Not
  • Rarity: Legendary (Orange)
  • Cost: Level 100 on Season 5 Battle Pass (Basic Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks)

We've seen evolveable Fortnite skins recently, called “progressive skins”, and for Season 5 they have returned. Among them is Ragnarok. At first, Ragnarok is a shaggy bald man with a blue beard and bright white eyes. Over time, Ragnarok turns into something more threatening the more you play with him.

His bald head turns into a gigantic skull with huge horns. His beard, below his skull, is lush with a bunch of smaller ponytails. Ragnarok is easily the best skin from season 5, but it's a shame it's at the highest pass level: 100. If you missed season 5, at least you can get a similar skin: Valquiria, which is a skin legendary in regular rotation.

Corvo

The 35 best fortnite skins | d966c447 crow | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still in rotation? Yes
  • Rarity: Legendary (Orange)
  • Cost: 2.000 V-Bucks

Crow has barely arrived and has already won the adoration of fans everywhere. Crow's skin also hardly looks like what you would imagine from a figure inspired by Edgar Allen Poe's books. In fact, gamers are already drawing comparisons to Destiny's sneaky salesman, Xur. So, if you're still a Destiny 2 fan, then you can grab this skin and get a little closer to your dear game.

Calamity

The 35 best fortnite skins | b555096d calamide | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still available? Not
  • Rarity: Legendary (Orange)
  • Cost: Level 1 in Season 6 Battle Pass (Basic Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks)

The Calamity skin is perhaps one of the most striking evolutionary skins so far in Fortnite. At first, you look like a standard old western extra. So the skin gets cooler and cooler, eventually turning into an intimidating cowgirl with a long coat and a full-on hat.

Level progression doesn't stop at the sixth layer of the skin either: by completing weekly challenges, you can change the color of how it glows too. The best look is the classic black, obtained after completing 50 weekly challenges.

Luxo

  • Still available? Yes
  • Rarity: Epic (Purple)
  • Cost: Level 100 in Season 8 Battle Pass (Basic Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks)

Luxury is one of the simplest skins of Fortnite's many battle passes. To unlock new skin color swatches, you must survive a certain number of opponents. The first number is 1.000 enemies, with a maximum of 25.000. There are four versions of Luxo in total, and they're all amazing. The color swatches not only change the color of your outfit, but the impressive tattoo on your arm as well.

expert

The 35 best fortnite skins | 23b0c573 expert | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still in rotation? Not
  • Rarity: Rare (Blue)
  • Cost: 1.200 V-Bucks

It's a simple and functional skin. It's just a girl with a nerdy face and some gadgets ready to do her job of… well, expert. So what makes this skin so awesome? Exactly for its simplicity and charm that put it on our list. She's just a little girl with a few pens in her pocket, but she was so harmonious and charming that it deserved a bigger rarity. But not. She's the most common one on the list and so it's not that hard to get, but still very elegant.

Reaper

The 35 best fortnite skins | 26998d3e reaper | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still available? Not
  • Rarity: Legendary (Orange)
  • Cost: Level 100 in Season 3 Battle Pass (Basic Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks)

The Reaper is a not-so-subtle pop culture reference for recent times. It is not a reference to Death or to any of the dozens of other games with a character named Reaper. Instead, a skin that references the John Wick movies, an action series starring Keanu Reeves, who “saws” everything in his path as he avenges his dog's death (among other things).

John Wick's movies are exciting and became a big hit for good reason (the guy doesn't even let reloading a gun slow him down). Aside from Reeves' charisma, the fight scenes are beautifully choreographed and without all those annoying cuts that current movies use to disguise that their stars can't even throw a punch.

Leviathan

The 35 best fortnite skins | 73dd9abd leviate | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still in rotation? Yes
  • Rarity: Legendary (Orange)
  • Cost: 2.000 V-Bucks

Leviathan was a adorably unexpected addition to Fortnite earlier this year. It's a skin very similar to the astronauts in Season 3's Battle Pass, except that with the Leviathan, the helmet doesn't house a human head – but a fish. The fish also looks very bad, with a frown and a rude expression on his face. The costume itself is pretty, iridescent teal and bright white. It's easily the best of the astronaut skins, and because of that, it's one of the best skins in the entire game.

Nara

The 35 best fortnite skins | 97bf90b6 nara | married games reviews | android, apple, epic games, fortnite, ios, multiplayer, pc | best fortnite skins
  • Still in rotation? Yes
  • Rarity: epic (Purple)
  • Cost: 1.500 V-Bucks

Taro and Nara are another skin duo proudly marching on our list of Fortnite's best skins, and after much consideration, they've placed them at the top of the list. They were revealed at the start of season 7 without much fanfare, with only their names as a hint to the storm that would eventually approach the island. The skins themselves are really memorable, although Nara is a little cooler because of her giant horns sticking out of her mask.
